GF Tab rework?

Honestly imo GF have the most useless Tab ability. Yes being able to Tab targets from mid range to "semi-taunt" them can be almost useful if Tab actually caused any aggro (without following it up with attacks, since marks only increase aggro based on you actually hitting the target) On top of it being highly redundant (They already have at-wills and encounters that mark the target) This seems to be 1 (of many I'm sure) issue with GF atm. So anyone have any suggestions as to what they could change this into to make it more useful?

Thought about having a similar bar to unstoppable that's only charged on receiving dmg (blocked attacks wouldn't count) but instead of gaining what unstoppable gets, giving the GF +healing received/move speed/ with a % reflect chance for X duration, basically a tab oh <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> button when your block meter is gone, instead of being a sitting duck.

Another idea was an AoE shout, the bar is filled while in combat, tabbing would cause a aoe taunt that also buffs near by party members.

    yeah agree. fair enough, gf's tabs hould do something else

    ALot of discussion on this already, everyone has different angles to make the GF tab slightly better and more viable. My choice would be like you suggested, an AoE shout (increased threat/taunt) with a far reaching distance, but instead of buff to party members give the GF a +3% deflection and/or deflection chance. Since obviously he will be swarmed most likey by majority of the adds. Like a temporary boon giving him a fighting chance if you will if he uses his tab.

    You seem to have some nice ideas guys :) please, remember that the mark with tab does not only increases threat, but it also debuffs the enemy marked. I am GF since beta, and i actually like the tab function as it is now. I honestly think that it would be nice to add some extra feature to the current tab function, like "damaging enemies marked with tab increases the effectiveness of your lifesteal by 50%". Actually, many GFs think that LS is not good on this class, but it is very useful both in pve and pvp, trust me. in addition, after mod3, GFs without both regeneration, and lifesteal have a very hard time in pvp. What do you think? I can tell you that i am planning to test myself a new build which would inlude both regen and lifesteal :)

    Sorry but a direct damage increase is what a GF needs, not more useless utility for party members, etc.
    Mark is one of the best tab skills in my opinion for obvious reasons. I would not want to play my GF without it.

    +3% is NOTHING!... GF's should easy access to 65% damage resistance, and 50% deflection.

    If they were to change it, perhaps make it a "Combat Mastery" slot, like the CWs Spell Mastery; an extra encounter power would be nice, and might make up for the class' decreased (compared to other classes) mobility.

    No oh <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> is when you use Fighters Recovery and then are CC / Proned during its duration and get no hit off.

    Agreed, seeing GWfs with 35% crit and 30+ Deflection, while maintaining high power and crazy armor pen. We GF the actual Tank class cannot reach any of those!
