I comeback like 2 weeks ago to see how crytpic is dealng with nerfing own game in order to make more money.
- I love the changes to crafting where you can't craft good assets anymore just buy from item mall.
- Change to item drops also killd a chance to make some ad on raids to force more people buying.
- Ofcourse old good pay to win by having fastest mount on pvp never changed even i remember people talking about it since the verry begining of a game
- The new bufs make game even more inba then before, like TR that atacks on invisibility and pops out only once a time for a second which is a joke or new class with ministuns out of nowhere
- All the new campaigns sharandar, dead ring and now ice wind dale are almost exacly same with no creativity at all, oh sry icewind dale have life events taken from Guild Wars2, only diference is live event in GW2 could be called Epic where nvn have only monsters poping out
- Faction is a joke. Most of people sign to only ten towns faction and there is no pvp in there. People just come in do quests and go out. So this is a huge failure.
- PvP campaign is a big joke, is this even a campaign? It's just simple checklist. I remember myself creating 3 good pvp designed modules not to mention other people and you didn't listen to anything people asked you to say.
Dunno what game you guys are playing, but it must be some different neverwinter mmo. I'm really enjoying IWD and dwarf valley, beautiful locations, lots to do, fun. +1 to the developers.
Thanks for your hard work.
No idea what my toon is now.

1) gfx. As a somewhat aged person i have issues when everything from mobs to surface is grey...
2) Time/reward ratio. IWD takes way to much time compared to dread ring or sharandar, particularly if one has several lvl 60's.
3) why do i get injured after being killed in PvP ? And why do I res outside of the pvp zone ? I am playing a dc main aka prime target...
Compared to just 1 pro (artifacts) this zone isn't good enough to renew my gaming fun. I'd rather have the devs fix the issues of the existing content (useless dungeons, foundry rewards, useless classes, unbalanced pvp...) than adding yet another half-baked module 4 next, pretty pls.
Zones - They are more fun to explore, more open and visually appealing
Several New Gear Sets - Black Ice, Corrupted, Purified, Hammerstone
Two factions and varied quests
New Skirmish
Class Based Artifact Quest and the artifacts are account bound
New Fashion items - very affordable and can be auctioned
Shared bank account options.
Black ice is not filling up our inventories
PVE Players working together
Dancing Trolls in DV
Cons: * and I really hate these cons
* Invisible mobs and bosses and even other players in Heroic Events (yes I've experimented with Video settings. Don't believe its on my end)
* Class encounter power glitches . CW SotEA is completely unreliable and I've heard of others
* Major Events "glitching" and are not completable
*Icewind Pass Major Heroic Events not spawning
* Bad framerates during some HE (system specs below)
Song and dance required to change instances and form groups
Inability to revive players
Cost for an additional 8 slots in shared bank account too high imho
If the * issues could be fixed and soon I'd say that Mod 3 had exceeded my expectations

My pro/con list is a bit different:
Pros:
Artifacts - I really like the class artifacts - by far the best part of Module 3 for me.
Reasonably challenging content - Sharandar and DR was too easy.
Zones - I like the size and the look of the zones. They are not very exotic - more like just what I can see out my window in the winter (yeah, I live in Iceland), but really well done.
Shared bank account - although it is a bit expensive to expand
Boons - the boons are not as good as some of the SHarandar or Dread Ring boons, but they help improving my characters.
Yeti companion.
Reasonably priced fashion items.
New black Ice enchants
Cons:
Armor sets - I am almost exclusively a PvE player, and the new gear is practically of no interest to me. I might craft a set, just to be able to get into Kessel's Retreat, but that's it....a lot of effort with little reward. The fact is that for me the set is just not as good for my needs as the other sets I have.
Current bugs with the HEs in Icewind Dale.
The whole issue with black ice damage reduction is badly designed. You need protection from the damage and you need the black ice gear to get the protection, but by the time you have a full set of ear, you are done with Module 3 anyhow....there is nothing to keep you going there.
Yup, so far the only good thing out of Module 3 is the new artifacts quest.
It seems right now the only HE's worth doing are the Remorhaz, Prospector Attack, Black Ice Beholder and Raid the Raiders. Once you get your gloves and mainhand there really isn't much purpose in doing these.
It seems that ones the game spawns lots of instances the HE's stop spawning. I had been on at a seemingly off cycle time slot and there were only a few instances up and the HE's seemed to be around. Once there are a ton of IW instances up it seems to lag up and the HE's stop spawning. Haven't seen a Remhorhaz
if you do the free amount of about 3k black ice refined per day you will have enough for all the black ice gear in the shop and atleast 3/4 refined when you have it unlocked
Despite the title of this thread, it seems like quite a few are enjoying this module going by the responses here. That's great. I'm glad to hear that some are having loads of fun with IWD. The Hubby and I, however, are decidedly not enjoying this new module (IWD specifically, the shared bank thing is very cool and appreciated, the overflow experience rewards is so very welcome and the new path for the HR is having the heck appreciated out of it).
We both find IWD extremely un-solo friendly as neither of us particularly enjoys playing with others (we'll both be playing the game, seated less than 10' from each other and not team up unless needed for a dungeon run). We both like solo play much better than team stuff and neither of us ever PvP. While it's technically not a "team" like in a skirmish or dungeon event, you do still end up with that sort of feel to the encounters and that's not something either of us enjoys being more or less forced on us if we want to do the stuff and earn the rewards in IWD.
Unfortunately, it's a module that we'll likely be leaving untouched because of the high level of annoyance/frustration we've experienced the few times we've been there (things unrelated to lag/bugs that need fixing are what's makng us say thanks but no thanks). If it turns out that doing IWD is something that is required for the new module slated to drop in August (like the boons from Sharandar/Dread Ring were to access IWD), I know we'll both be very disappointed and likely stop supporting the game with real world money purchases at that point. What will be the incentive for us to do that for a game we can't advance further in unless we grind out for weeks to get whatever in an area we don't like/hate the mechanics of? That's not fun and certainly nothing I'd want to lay down my hard earned money to reward the devs for something I don't like/don't want to play.
I know you can't please all the people all the time and it seems like there are a lot of people pleased with this module. There were some cool concepts (the black ice stuff and the Yeti pet) and the scenery and ice mechanics are well done. But the whole, constant group thing? Really not a fan. I would simply hope that the devs do listen at least a little to some of the people who aren't so enamoured with the set up of this module and tweak the next once a touch to address some of the things people have mentioned as they're not being very appreciative of. A pipe dream maybe in that the devs would listen to the lowly gamer, but you gotta have hope that they might, right?
I agree that it would be enjoyable....if the game didn't demand you to spend this much real life money on it to keep up with the upgrades. At one point when you spend X amount of money there should be no 'need' to spend more - you should be able to get everything in the game by simply playing it and spending real money would simply become optional rather than a 99% must-do.
I wonder if the only people who say they enjoy this module or this game for that matter are the ones that spend half the cash they make at work on this game every day. In which case I don't really see why this game is f2p in the first place - if the only people that can properly progress here are the ones with a high salary job who can afford to spend a lot of money on it frequently then they would've done so either way, f2p or not.
It's a shame that game devs require a single player to spend 1k+ irl $$$ on a good looking/fun -new- MMORPG nowadays. Oh well...

You don't have to spend a dollar on this game for anything other than convenience. I haven't spent a dime on anything other than fluff (a couple of mounts, a few costume packs, a couple of particularly neat looking companions) since this game started and I'm doing just fine in IWD.

IWD's quest campaign maybe. Try to participate in anything 'endgame' related and you won't get anywhere without spending money, or a lotttt of time grinding for it to the point that it's silly to do that vs spending real money which is earned faster. Unless your purpose of participating is to serve as 'easy pickings' of course. In which case, carry on
Edit: Oh, mighty curious in the artifacts that you have and how you're going to upgrade them. Good luck btw!

Also a good tip to know there is a daily quest item drop(hammerstone) in dwarven valley that gives 1200 refined black ice as well as some other nice items.
For me its the Dungeon Keys. Being able to run when I can or want to is the biggest plus.
The Class Artifacts are great as well. I've already slotted some on some of my toons to boost stats that are a bit of work to get on certain classes.
But keeping on topic. I am not really enjoying it as much as I could be. Maybe this perception will change when it doesn't take two hours to fire off Daunting Light, or pick up a drop.
BUT! I can see the potential that this module has once all the kinks are worked out.
After playing (or trying to) on sunday and suffering lag in dorf valley yesterday and today IWD will be a one toon only zone. My experience of it is not something I want to spend any time doing.
Interesting that not barely a week has gone by and the launcher is teasing module 4 already.
Apparently WotC is pushing Mod4 as a tie-in to Tyranny of Dragons. While IMO Mod3 was pushed out too quickly, I don't think Cryptic or PWI are the culprits with the next one.

you should be able to craft twice a day 12 hours apart, unless you work 12 hour shifts.
Well, right now the lag is outrageous. Failed 3 prospectors attack because by the time you see what's going on they are dead. Likewise you can't even see the bosses unless you are standing right on top of them. Just not playable the way it is now.
What I don't enjoy is the Gear that have Black Ice Damage Resist and Tenacity, I don't mean I didn't wanted better gear, but I didn't wanted gear with useless stats for me.

Actually I'll be using it for PvE,
I can't beat a piece of armor that gives me 550 power on just one piece, not to mention the other pieces for the Corrupt Black Ice gear and Orb.
So trust me, once you upgrade the stuff that stats are pretty incredible. Ours seems to lack a lot of recovery... but the base stats are pretty spectacular.

Not sure why it's something to complain about. If it didn't have tenacity or black ice resistance, it probably wouldn't have extra stats located elsewhere.
The Devs have stated that the tenacity stat is in addition to other stats. In other words, unlike previous sets where total amount of stats per item included tenacity, these two sets have tenacity in addition to the PvE stats. This was done to make it easier for all.
I for one will have a set of purified and corrupted including weapons the stats are amazing at the t3 level. Anyone want to be nice and give me another vorpal and soul forged?
Sets will never ever have the kind of set bonus the initial sets had. It is time to accept that.

He said per day. it's a 12 hour task. Also it's 2700 black ice a day because you're most likely to get the t1 reward.
You also get 100 from each of the dailies, so that's 600 extra a day with dwarven valley unlocked.
Does anyone know how much black ice you need to keep refined gear at full power?
