Coalescent Wards

What is the best way to get them without resorting to purchasing with zen or astral diamonds? I have already been doing the 7 day chests but have been unlucky so far. Do they fall in epic dungeons or skirmishes? I think I have about 6 - 1% chance of refinement success on my main character, so I need these to continue improving. Again, what is the best way?

They don't drop off epic dungeons/skirmishes.

The only other way if you don't wanna resort to invoking or buying ZEN is to get trade bars off lockboxes, which also indirectly involves buying ZEN.

Which is the best way? I don't know, but some peeps create an army of toons just for invoking in hopes of getting some.

Rabbit's Foot? I have two toons that need 5-6 Coalescent Wards each and have yet to have one show up in the Invocation chests (6 months of playing).
    I aim to misbehave

Well I do have only 2 character slots, and I invoke everyday, and open the chest once a week on each character. Are there any wards available that I do not know about that are less expensive but do not give 100% chance, say 60% or 75%? This is a real roadblock for advancement for me. I will look into the trade bars.

Even with multiple toons you won't get many wards. You'll have to resort to buying them. Thre are 2 types of wards, coal wards, and pres wards which are the ones for normal enchants and not weapon/armour enchants.

The 7-day reward chest used to be the best way, honestly. But so far as I've seen, that drop rate has been nerfed to the ground. So what you're left with is limited.

You can purchase them off of the AH still. 260k is over twice what they used to be before the changes to the 7-day box were enacted, but you could probably farm that up.

You can do the tradebar route, which is where a majority of the coal wards on the AH come from now I think. But, that's really a gamble and chances are, you'll spend more in AD trying to get the tradbars required from the lockboxes to purchase a coal ward. It's 200 tradebars, iirc? But hey, you might also get lucky and get a nice mount or some such which you could sell for a huge profit and then your worries would be mostly over.

Lastly, never buy it from the Zen store. 1000 Zen at even 300 Ad: 1 zen (which it hasn't been in aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages) is still 300k AD.
    contents to be decided

Also, be careful: given that you need coals for every step of the weap/armour enchant upgrade path (shard>>lesser>>normal>>greater>>perfect), coals have a fairly stable (albeit slowly increasing) value: they're always in demand.

Conversely, the actual enchants themselves can vary in value pretty substantially, and it's sometimes cheaper to buy a premade enchant rather than fusing one yourself with a coalescent ward (even though this may seem crazy).

    Farm dungeons.

    Buy them off the AH

Pay 200k Zen (250k at 500 AD per zen) on the AD exchange, and get new character slots.

This will increase the number of coffers you open simultaneously granting a higher chance of a Coal ward, open 1 box once a week? months, open 2 boxes once a week? months, open 4 on the same day?

    It's behind door number 2

Id hold off a few days before buying any off the AH right now. With a new lock box dropping tomorrow. I expect a sudden surge in boxes being opened, as everyone tries to be first to list the loot on the AH. More opened boxes means more trade bars in circulation. More trade bars means more coal wards. And with a new surge of supply, prices might drop a bit.

You can still get them rarely (account bound) from boxes of glorious augmentation. Recommend pray farming on lots of characters.

I pray on 2 characters since beta, finally get it a week ago, which is exactly one year of playing for me. The rate of getting a coal ward is really really low.

got 4 Cwards in 5 months from 7 chars. Not rly the way to make a perfect enchant, but they are free so none can complain. I dont encourage anyone to buy account slots for this, it does take time to manage them. Leadership on the other hand can help u.
