Is Angel of Protection worth using?

About to get my angel in a couple days, so I've been wondering if there's any point to keeping it rather than selling. Its passive bonus doesn't seem that great. Its active abilities are certainly nice as far as companions go, but would it really be better than having an augment stone? Healing and mitigation are useful, but I'm not sure it would make up for all the augment stats. Anybody using one and finding it worth it?

In my opinion, you're better off with other stuff and augments unless you're really squishy.

I used my Angel all thru MC and she kept me healed. It's a great companion for PVE grinding but I do lose a great deal of offense with my Kitty. You can sell the Angel now as the price is about 2 million. There's a chance more will sell theirs and you can buy a cheaper one. :D

If i will use soulforge in the next module, angel will become my first choice as a companion for that passive.

It is good. Been doing skirmishes with no potions - 2nd and sometimes best Healer in the skirmish.

With Soulforge is great - a little 10% bar pops up that is protected when you res.

Also do not forget the 5% less damage at lv 30 (at the moment though the tool tip is showing 3%)

Also the intercepting 50% of damage is also great.

On top of that it looks pretty sweet at lv 30 - great big halo effect.

Even though I have stone I will be using the Angel in MoD 3 simply because it feels right. My damage will be down but I can concentrate on the fight and not the my healing potions.

Pheora and Mystic Pheora or both at the same time are also a very good synergy with Soulforged enchantment.

    Does the Angel draw aggro?

It is a normal companion so it can.

The Angel does try to stay behind you but if you run to the other side of a mob, turn around, and there's another mob not to far away, she might attract them. She says, "No Problem" and keep's ya healed. Any other companion and this might be disastrous. :(

EDIT: wrong assumption, due to poor tooltip wording (as always) :P

I already use the Angel with Soulforge and also the Pheora.
I do not know what you are getting at with wrong assumption; but when I res because of the soulforge the Angel 10% is there added on like temp hit points.

Could you please explain a bit more in depht, how the active bonus works, since i have gotten my Angel just now. Are those 10% added and used like temporary hitpoints, or are those 10% immune to damage for a certain amount of time?

It seems to be immune for a certain amount of time. The health in the health bar is also extended with a yellow tooltip, which is the added 10%.

It does go down if hit a bit though so not 100% cheat death!!!

Do you have an idea how long those 10% HP are protected? I am considering using the Angel, when the open world PVP arrives in one of the compangion slots, but there is a tough competition for those slots :-)

My problem with the Angel is the false advertisement between the store listing and the actual angel. They look nothing alike.

I would think the angel would make a great companion for tanking.

The store listing shows the level 30 version. As with ALL pets the level 1 versions are always less impressive.

the store artwork does not look like the lvl 30. the actual angel doesn't even have legs or a face, and the artwork has darkish skin and white hair.
