A quick warning to people in guilds

I assume many may know this but I have been getting tells from other players to "invite me to your guild". Now I know that ignoring these people seems elementary, but I just wanted to put it out that there are some bugs in the guild inventory system and these people are absolutely phishing to get in your guild to steal your lewts.

This is probably a warning that is basic, but I just wanted to throw it out there.

Thanks!

Uhmm, should you not only get these tells when you actually have the power to send guild invites?! Clearly, when you do not like getting these tells, and as a consequence put players onto ignore, then you certainly should not hold the privilege to invite new guild members. One simply does not get many random tells asking for an invite otherwise.

And if the guild leader has set the bank account privileges for recruits to take out stuff, then it is not stealing. It may only be stupid to leave everything unlocked, not to set take-out limits, or to put valuable items into these accounts in the first place.
    Stay frosty.

    Two things:
    1. A valid request to get invited into a guild consists of more than just 'Inv to guild', especially when you find the one asking in PE, and notice them standing RIGHT beside the Guild Bank.
    2. There have been issues with the Bank Rights, like Withdrawals not logged, or People having access beyond 'take out' Limits or Ranks. Only seemingly working setting right now seems to be 'You shall not withdraw!'.

Thats why i created my own guild, booted everyone else and only allow my alts in. turned off guild recuiting. I have a drama free guild now.

No. A simple "inv to guild" is all it needs. If you need more should you ask back, but to start with expectations on how people need to behave is what gets you awoxers in the first place. When you are not cool with every player's attitude, then some will see you as weak and will have it out for you. It has never been different.

Being paranoid then only prevents clear thinking. So when you see them standing right next to the guild bank then this is because you are standing there, too! Fact is it is nice to be near the people you like even when it is all just a virtual world. I always go looking for my guildies when I am in the Enclave, change to their instance and meet with them at the same places. So the guy who happens to stand next to you at the guild bank will just like your guild's name and is in need of a guild.

Anyhow, I cannot really cure someone's paranoia when they choose to be paranoid. My points still are that you will only show up in a guild's description when you are online and have been given recruiting rights. Not wanting these tells, but wanting these rights is just really very stupid and the interface was just not designed for that kind of player. It is the same with items you do not want to give away. You keep them in your personal account.

Best is to get it right in the first place and not when it is too late. Learn how it works and use it accordingly. If something is unclear then ask on the forums. Complaining about having failed at it is old.
    Stay frosty.

Dude... First off, he is not lying. Second off, in every thread all you do is yell and get people riled up =/ is it that hard to just say thanks or not post?.. Between this and "my guild leader is an idiot" post I'm starting to seriously doubt any credibility that you may have had. /rant

I read alot of posts and really don't like to respond but this is blatant a--hattery. Hopefully your precious utopia of a guild is unaffected, because quite frankly if it does get hit no one is going to shed a tear.

My answer to random requests from unknowns for guild invites is "if you want to join a guild without knowing anything at all about it, your probably not the kind of player we want in our guild"...or "you dont want to be part of a guild that invites without knowing who they are inviting." Seems like a sensible policy.

Are you just not getting it? He is warning players that there is a scam currently going on. After reading a dozens of posts on this very issue it is clearly a scam and not accidental. When you send these players a tell they never respond back. We set our recruits to no bank access yet it seem to reset on occasion after a patch. I had to reset it after last patch.

It is not paranoia when this is actually happening.

It is nice to see someone warning the community about a scam! Thanks OP and ignore the poster I quoted!

You guys do not get it. This sort of "robbery" happens in every MMO. I want you to get used to it and to accept it. You cannot fight it. You can cry about it all day long, but nothing is going to change. You will only make the thieves laugh with your outrage, your precious warnings and endless rants on the forums. If this is what you want to give them on top of your failure then I will not stop you. How could I stop you?!

However, I will still suggest to you to keep a friendly attitude towards every new member and to use the interface the way it was designed.

You think you can handle this?

Name 1 single reason why the OP letting people know to be careful is a bad thing.

You are asking the wrong question. The right question is, how many times do you need to be told to be careful?!

Then name 1 single reason why I cannot warn you guys back not to become paranoid, not to lose your head and act like fools who are just asking to be robbed.

Seeing you like pvp should you be happy that someone like me actually leaves a comment here, because Neverwinter is only getting stronger on the PvP side, and some of you have not yet seen what players are capable of doing. Especially PvPers.

    Seeing your second comment:
Wait a second. Weren't you just looking for a new guild?.. I smell something seriously not cool going on here.
Yes, I am and you are getting paranoid just like I told you. You are making my point exactly... :)

Pretty sure we know why he is looking for a new guild! ;)

    *lol*

I come from EVE Online and played it for 5 years. I know quite a good deal about the meta gaming of PvPers just from that game.

Trust me, if I wanted to steal from you, which I do not, would I not use my main account. Nobody uses their main to steal.

    You think I am lying?

All right, I do think this has gone far enough. It's no longer informative or even constructive and is just being used to troll. I'm going to do it a favor and put it out of its misery.
