I don t know if it s really an issue or not, but i kind of used some feats to increase my threat as a GF, so it s kind of pointless, really, to have it decreased by a supposed buff that wasn t that easy to get to begin with. It could be nice if for GF and GWFs to have it increase the threat instead of reducing it.

Or, you could just choose not to use the Pocket Pet on your GF.
Just like I choose not to use the Dread Warrior companion, whose active bonus increases threat, on my DC.
That may sound kinda harsh, but Cryptic has made all kinds of artifacts, boons and companions which will fit certain classes/playstyles, and not others. I appreciate the variety.

Yeah, well it was bound to char when it was received. Considering that threat is not a stat, the text explaining that threat decrease is one of the possible results is subdued, so I didn't see it when I got the thing on my GWF. I know I was surprised when I saw 'Aww so cute..' and then noted my threat was decreased (by the buff tag.)
Well, I don't really care much, all mobs are still gonna die. But it is kind of silly that it activates for the fighters. I just consider it a null buff, better luck next time.
Hey, well at least it doesn't say "BLEED WITH ME, DARLING!" and start trimming off hitpoints. XD

It works best in PvP, providing you don't press Tymora's Coin then Pocket Pet instantly, other than that yes it's useless for a PvE GF leading the party, as it cuts it too close to the threat meter.
I feel for you. GF's need some love and requests like yours would help the GF class out.
This is diferent, you can always choose other companions, this was the only stat boosting item in the whole event. Why would the already weak GF be the only one to recieve a penalty for using it. It took me the same amount of work to get it with that chara as it did with the others.
It doesn't reduce threat by that much (I'm assuming). That buff popped up a few times whilst I ran this last CTA, and despite not having investing in bumping up my threat, very, very rarely did I lose it - Even when I was trying to...

It decreases threat generation by 5% (if you read the description of the item itself, you would see that).
GF need no ap bonus as they have plenty ap gain while tanking, no need for severity either, 250 regen only tickle the usual GF with already 1.5-2k regen, so yes, don't use the pet...
AND if you choose to use it, -5% threat generation is not a problem if you cant really keep up some mob aggro you are doing something else very wrong.
It s not crucial of course, just saying that GF is a class that s been left to it s own luck since module 2, and making buff items that are useful for every class cept GF doesn t help either.

Someone has to be the red headed step child, in the case of Neverwinter they just carry a shield.
Considering that the GF must be the most loved class in this game,
and further considering the absolute OP of said class,
I humbly suggest to change the mechanic by a tiny addition:
change
"Decrease Threat gained by 5%."
to
"Decrease Threat gained by 5%, increase Threat gained by 10% from targets marked by YOU"
Now, if there were any resources available this could most probably be done.
Alas, why invest expensive and rare dev time for a class that is dying, unloved and totally unnecessary anyway?

I play a CW, but I can see how this is a bummer for GF/GWF's trying to tank. Imagine if one of the "buffs" from the pocket pet was "decrease damage by 5%". That sure would suck for the rest of us.
I don't think it's cool that we got a unique buff "pet", and one of those is actually a random debuff to some of the classes. I think they should replace it with a "take X% less damage".

I use the pocket pet on my GF, I personally haven't found it to be an issue.
I gave Tymora's Lucky Coin to my GF and CW and the Pocket Pet to my DC and HR. It worked out well since I didn't have enough Coins and Pets to give both to the characters. My only wish is for more slots
