Guardian fighters can dodge?

There were these gf's I was PvPing against that randomly dodged my lunging strike.
Lets just say the gf's name was Bob. So I was directly in front of Bob, and he was blocking. Then he lowered his guard for whatever reason, and I took that time to activate LS. Then, it shows a red "Dodged" symbol, even though Bob didn't move inch.

Can someone tell me how he was doing this?

    My guess is that Bob's HR friend activated Fox's Cunning which buffed himself and Bob to automatically dodge the next attack.

    Because the melee counterpart hits like a truck. :-)
