I am new to HR and presently lvl-26. My question is, which powers and feats are a must have, and which ones can HR live without. I am really considering a PVP build. I havn't decided which I prefer more, melee or range as for paragon paths go? I ususally pick what I think I think is the better feat. Any advice is welcomed.
I have a level 55 HR. You can not live without the thorn power, like the cleric traps. It is vital for both PVE and PVP. In PVP the thieves all use stealth. This power lets you at least know they are in the area. I am really disappointed in the powers, think they need to be balanced. I still use the basic at will and basic split shot for most of the time. They do more damage then the higher range powers. There is one ranged attack that does good damage, not the hawkeye which is a daily, but an at will, you can get later but you need to charge it to get it to work. The problem is any kind of interruption, an attack or hit cancels your charge. So basically you can not use an attack unless you are all alone and no one knows you are shooting at them. I like the boar charge, really helpful in pvp to knock down those pesky thieves and then you can escape or go for the kill. So other then those the rest of the powers are not all that helpful. Don't forget that you have the option to heal as a power. That is why I changed from a mage to a hunter. Hope that helps. I am looking forward to the new paragon power path. Maybe I will have to redo another character from scratch and take those powers.
