BoP Items for other class

Okay, i d really like to know if this was an unintentional mistake because there is nothing more useless than an item bound to a character that it cannot use. My TR found some DC transmutables, half of the rewards in module skirmishes or dngns are equipment that gets bind. If that s on purpose then just give me gold cause it has no other use for those rewards. I m not talking salvagable items, just plain blue stuff; i d like to trade thse things to other of my chara.
Also what s the deal with barkshield? Why is it the only bop shard around.

I have yet to see a single "bind-to-character" item anywhere in game that couldn't at least be "bind-to-account". The BoA aspect renders BoP useless and frustrating. At least with BoA you can transfer to alts and whatnot. But I suspect BoP will be with us a long time.

Now, if they were to convert every single BoP item to BoA - the entire item economy would be 1000's of times better for it. I can understand Invoke items being BoP and such, but every drop/reward/loot/whatnot should be either BoE or BoA. BoP Is a depreciated, legacy concept now.

Also barkshield shards are only bound if you only have 1. Or was it unbound when you tried to split a stack? One of the 2
