Because there will be naysayers coming out of the woodwork on the subject I wanted to create this thread to say "hey, Cryptic: THANKS!". Many will whine about the "quality" of the items being given away, but remember: they're free! So snag 'em up and enjoy them.

PRO TIP: Only grab them from the character you want to have them, just in case any are character bound. (And I suspect we might see an influx of AH items next week, too. -sadpanda-)

HEY, CRYPTIC: THANKS!

It looks like they are one per account.

They are account bound. At least the life scrolls are.

wow I too would like to say thank you Cryptic! I have to say i thought the free event -Respens- was the best ever, most thoughtful event I have encountered in an MMO. Who has not played table top D&D where the dm did not have enough lead figures for all the gobbos and orcs?

For folks upset about the quality of the free items, just consider we get the content to play for free. In all the other mmos I have played, you had to purchase the content to play it 75% of the time, and if you did get it for free, it was not available to you until the Subs had a week or so to play it before you did (and the drop rates on the special items seemed much better during these periods)

So, just want to say thank you so much for all the free stuff, both content and items.

Free items without having a catastrophe attached to them? Suhweet.

Even if it does have the side bonus of possibly increasing player log-ins, it's still an awesome and generous thing for the regular players.

    Thank you :3.

Well at least there's something which isn't a consumable tomorrow. So that's fine.

If we don't claim the items from the free tab do they disappear or can we store them there and take them out when or as we need them?

I just picked up my Scrolls of Life on Gateway (apparently that log in counts too. Even more kudos!) from the Zen store.

I can confirm that they are BoA and that you only get 1 stack of 5 per account.

I would assume that if they aren't claimed during the day they are supposed to be available they will disappear.

The rewards are quite nice. I was cynically expecting something like dye packs or fluff items, but Scrolls of Life and Health Stones are actually useful. Thanks!

THIS RIGHT HERE. this has got to be the most awesome way to satisfy this. I am always on the gateway at work, keeping my professions churning, so I picked up these scrolls!

    YAY,
    Thanks

These items can all be used. I still have a couple of toons that could benefit from Life Scrolls and Health Stones. Blood Ruby is always good. I'm not much into the whole outfit thing, but I will find a use for it I'm sure.

I'll add my Thanks as well!

Not that I'm not grateful and all (free stuff!) but wouldn't coal ward be better than ruby (or scrolls, or wear just an example).
I know that it might be a bit selfish (since I kinda need 1 or 2 atm) to say that but I think coal ward would be much better thing for people since not all have enchants that would help them in PvE or PvP.

PS and seriously: nice move with free stuff

    1. Its free stuff. They could honestly just given us preservation wards instead of 50,000 refining points

    2. I don't want the market being flooded with too good of an item. Everytime something free is being given, it has a ripple effect on the whole market, on your farming potential, inflation of your diamonds, the standard of an average gear etc etc.

If you don't care about the economy or the market, then go back to number 1. Its free.
