I am leveling a Gwf destroyer swordmaster and i am wondering which is the best for DPS, life steal sustain, and aggro generation? With the deep gash nerf i have doubts of whether P.Vorpal is still BiS for GWF, whereas p.lightning looks like a good alternative.
Also, which is better with endless consumption? and which is better with Rampaging madness?
Lightning works great with Rampaging Madness (questionably...bugged) each strike grants you two stacks, and each arc from each strike grants you a stack. If you AoE 5 mobs, and it arcs 2 times for each...you get um...15 stacks with one hit.
I seriously doubt any enchantments in this game will ever be more practical than Vorpal and Soulforged. There's always been speculation about which enchants will become the new king with each big change in the game and ultimately, Vorpal and Soulforged always reign supreme.
While other enchants will always have their strong points, they are always trumped by Vorp/Soul because these two are effective in any aspect of Neverwinter while other enchantments are only effective in certain situations. For example, Terror/Plaguefire do not stack with themselves, rendering two in a party a bit less useful, while Vorpal is not subject to this hindrance. Armor enchants that have cool-downs (Negation/Bloodtheft) can sometimes be extremely useful when they proc at the right time, but they can also proc sometimes when you least need them to, while Soulforged can only ever proc when you want it to.
The changes in Mod 3 will bring new opportunity for situations to arise where enchantments other than Vorp/Soul might be useful. Lightning as you said might be decent for PvE dps now that Deep Gashes won't be crits, if you're getting focused in the new open-world PvP zone by 10+ people, maybe Briartwine will find itself a nice new effective role, perhaps Lifedrinker will make a return if open-world PvP doesn't have the Healing Depression or if the new dungeon requires a ton of lifesteal. Who knows? Regardless, I really don't think any enchantments will ever be all-around more effective than harder crits and a free, automatic resurrection and heal.
