Just curious what most Hunters thought was the best Profound set for PvP?

I am not convened that the Archer set is the right one for someone who is in the Archer specline

Thanks

I'd agree with that. I would say for all around use Combatants seems to be the choice for most people. If I could do it over again I would do naturalist though. It has a ton of defense, deflect, recovery, etc and I think you get enough arp/crit from enchants, items and weapons to make it work.

Currently my opinion would be to go Full naturalist or if you dont want the 4 piece bonus, go combat and naturalist. I dont like the set up of archery profound.

I've just gotten 2 pieces of archer's profound for the crit arpen combo, and 2 pieces nature (grim though) for defence and recovery - I had had the forest lord armour for the 450 rec bonus, but decided maybe extra arpen would be better. I think this has proved to be true, last night in pvp I racked up 22 kills in one match, a new record for me anyway.

My regen and lifesteal are wiped out, but on the whole, as long as I glug a few potions I survive okay. Died twice for example, though I routinely popped soulforge.
No idea what my toon is now.

Here are the total stats for each armor set:

    Archer:
    1330 defense, 1162 crit, 1162 ArP, 0 power, 0 deflect, 0 recovery, 2182 HP

    Combatant:
    784 defense, 0 crit, 546 ArP, 1162 power, 1162 deflect, 0 recovery, 2182 HP

    Naturalist:
    1949 defense, 0 crit, 0 ArP, 546 power, 546 deflect, 1162 recovery, 0 HP

    Bows/blades (same stats for each)
    Archer:
    703 power, 198 crit, 198 ArP, 93 defense, 0 deflect, 0 recovery, 372 HP

    Combatant:
    902 power, 0 crit, 93 ArP, 0 defense, 198 deflect, 0 recovery, 372 HP

    Naturalist:
    796 power, 0 crit, 0 ArP, 198 defense, 93 deflect, 198 recovery, 0 HP

If you dual set, you should be able to hit all your stat goals easily enough. But for me giving up the 20% run speed is a big drawback in survivability. I guess it depends on if you PUG or premade.

Say you go naturalist and say you use two Pegasus rings for 956 crit. Then pick up archer blades and bow for 396 crit and ArP. With purple lantern, you get 183 crit and 300 ArP. That would get you 1535 crit and 696 ArP. Purple shirt and pants gets you 184 crit and 154 ArP. If you get six offense slots, you can use one rank 8 azure for 1939 crit and call it good. Then use the other five with darks for 1950 ArP. Maybe shade in the rest with proper choice of neck and waist items.

The problem with naturalist now is that is has low power and no bonus HP. Also, it depends on your spec if it has enough deflect on it. You only have three defense slots to use. You could use three 880 HP for 2640 HP or get 660 deflect. For me, recovery isn't that important, I run with waters and skull and that is adequate for me. Naturalist would fall short of what I want in my build.

Personally, I won't do without my 10% regen, so I need a ring of the noble beast which is defense, my other ring I use the Pegasus 478 crit ring which is offense. ATM, neck and waist best I can get which is just zealot stuff from DR for now, one each. That gives me 4 defense and 5 offense slots to work with. So I'd agree that combatant gives the most flexible stats to work with.
