In a post mod 3 pvp world, I wanted to get some discussion started about Regen vs Lifesteal. I know many have the regen stacking TR (stealth) with high HP but due to the 50 percent nerf, I wanted to know if any have adjusted for a more balanced Lifesteal build?
Anyone have any thoughts, experiences, opinions? As always its very appreciated.
Personally I have had as high as 1800+ regen with 31k health and now with Tenacity gear im at a measly 800+regen with 28k health.
Life Steal is also affected by Healing Depression so Regen is still the go-to stat for self-sustain. Though it'll only kick in as soon as you run away from the opponent or after purifying yourself of the debuff using Waters of Elah'zad, since it's impossible to not get hit while in combat unless you are full-ranged permastealth WK who has the luxury of being able to pelt opponents from a 60' range, from Stealth. Not to mention Life Steal is heavily dependent on the damage you are able to dish out.
I personally forewent Regen Gear in favor of gear that provides offensive stats. The only Regen I have is from Blood Crystal Raven Skull and Illusory Regeneration. It does its job when I try to escape combat, because any sort of self-healing will become useless in combat.
Life Steal's still 50% from Healing Depression! But the Life Steal you gain from Lifedrinker and Bloodthirst enchantments should proc with 100% effectiveness as they are not affected by Healing Depression.

I seem to recall one of the campaign boons that triples incoming lifesteal values procs on every hit like it does with Rampaging Madness. Would that be enough to offset heal depression in anyway and make lifesteal actually more desirable than regen?
Stop making excuses. Be a man. If you know something to be broken, stop using it. Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'
Yep that's Endless Consumption. I like it for PVE, but I haven't really observed it enough for PVP to give feedback regarding its efficacy. But if Endless Consumption also triples the Life Steal we get from Lifedrinker I think it might be pretty good enchant for DF/CoS semi-perma builds that tend to attack very frequently.
Uk, any reason why? have you parsed with ACT on a solo run or something and noticed a large difference? I wonder how often that boon procs? is it a once every 60 seconds deal?
UK, sorry I mentioned pve but i am thinking from a pvp perspective as well. I am just curious how often any of the boons proc and if they are effective.
Regen for PVP Lifesteal for pve unless your a non conquorer gwf(if they still exist) then maybe regen for both for pve build lifesteal first and formost regens priority comes somewere after all your core stats and power are ashigh as u want them ") for pvp lifesteals a pile of steaming *&%^ so yeah regen but it will still max out at about 2k a second even with high hps and close to death and well ppl target ppl close to death for easy kills. endless consumption was about a 40% of time proc but ive heard it got a idc last patch and im curently trawling forums looking for confimation lol

That's weird.. because for me, it seems like its proccing on every hit.
