Cw nerfed?

Before patch my usual Icy Ray would crit for 12-20k in PvP (give or take). Now I will crit 10k on a good Icy and most much lower. Sure there are scenarios where I can land 12-13k on a low geared, debuffed target.

The 10% DR and 10% crit damage reduction does not account for the missing damage since it's about 50% on this power. I always tab it in PvP so this is the thing I've noticed the most, not sure how other spells have been affected.

It's really bad when developers ninja nerf things, and this is hardly the first time, they do it A LOT in this game.

Can someone confirm a nerf to Icy Ray?!

Also I'd like to point out that RavenSkull is now useless in PvP. Great to spend a lot to get it to legendary just to see it get a mega-nerf. Probably good overall since it was OP for some classes/builds, but for CW it was not.

    Ravenskull is not useless, it is still decent, just not OP.

    As for Ravenskull in CW.....CW is one of the weakest class in PVP. A CW can never control a point, dominate a match or carry a team. They are very very fragile and their 3 teleports while useful are no match to the tankiness of GWF/GF or stealth/permastealth of TR.
    CW sucks in PVP plain and simple. You can always own noobs and lesser players, but try playing it against a top premade and you will die easily.

    It is not a ravenskull problem you have OP, it is a CW in PVP problem.

    Of course we will die in a pug vs premade setting if they are close to decent. I didn't touch on that topic. The main point was Icy Ray being nerfed and the other was that it sucks to have made it legendary just to have it nerfed by 50%. This sucks especially for a squishy CW.

    And I cannot tell you how many times I've been hit mid teleport before. And no I don't lag. It's just not well developed. You are supposed to be immune for a short period after a teleport, that doesn't apply half the times making it useless to depend on, and in turn makes you even more.. dead.

    Permas are still here, more so than ever. GWF Sent still thrives and trolls PvP all day long... Yet CW is the one getting all the ninja nerfs. Why not remove CW alltogether from the game and be done with it? In PvP we only have a roll right now if we're on a good team that can give you support. (I.E. OP GWF's distract enemy opponents while you range burst them like a *****)

    @froszzt... Did you count the enemies' armor dr, and additional dr if they were wearing tenacity?

    @rashylewizz... Everybody(oops, almost everybody) got nerfed. TR's are pissed cuz their permastealth dps got nerfed, dc's are all but useless as healers now, cw's can't cc as much, and hr's(who were basically an anti cw/gwf weakness, had what little control they had nerfed as well. If your mad about your 3 teleports being bugged, roll an hr... They get 6, and those are too short a distance that they're bs to be bugged as well.

    @froszzt again... If anything, cw's seem to have cc work more often the higher their tenacity, but heard its cuz they got flat control buff. Noticed my cc works less, while I'm getting cc'ed more often. Maybe someone can confirm?
    I hear "learn to play" all the time, but it seems to me that it should be defined as "my class is balanced, except when others beat it, then THAT class is OP"...

    20K crit means one-shotting squishy class newbie from afar. Sorry Sir, no more ezmode for you, you have to now work for your kills so WAI.

    LOL, so tell me why do I'm often in a matches where top 3 positions are CWs, from both teams?
    Yeah, love the tencity updates - good CW players own even harder, but no more ezmode for skilless CWs and GWFs just chain spamming CC.

    i wonder this to if cw is so under powerd why then in few games i played cw was always in top 3 by score and with 20+kills and 0 deaths

    cw are fine... cc needs to last a lil longer, but its ok

    Hey there frosty :) I think you need some reply from non-CW haters and illiterates that do guesswork based on personal feelings.

    - 20K IR was a lot before Tenacity, even as Thaum from Mastery. This would be possible only on ungeared debuffed target. But 16K crits were rather common with HV set on just EF/IR combo crits - on squishies. If you changed HV for Tenacity gear, IR damage would be affected obviously.
    Now squishies have 10% innate damage resistance. 10% crit resistance. If they wear Tenacity gear, this can go up to 22% or so. This is additive with normal DR, which should be for normal squish target around 20-30% DR.
    So I'd say it all adds up. Also I think IR doesn't even work with ArP, but not 100% sure if fixed/changed or not.

    - Raven is pretty much useless indeed. Was essential for CWs as part of our escape when things got messy, now, together with Soulforged, it is affected by Healing Depression so yeah. It's not that good. I wanted to make mine legendary as well, but when I saw the changes on Preview, I stopped at 93.

    There are many other things that affect CWs a lot. In fact, they affect us so much, I decided to roll a HR and a GWF.

    Also the matchmaking is kinda fail, it keeps putting OP people with newbies and so on, hence there's a false sentiment that CWs are good. However the moment matchmaking does its work and puts 2 solid premades against each other and you get some geared GWF/HR following you, everything falls apart if your team is not uberOP and capable of creating better matchups for you and protecting your squishy HAMSTER.

    That's about it. in4 the CW hate...

    I still see the occasional 16k icy, but its rare.. Usually its 11k or so. on a highly debuffed target.

    You know, it's funny. Every comment in this thread's been positive and sympathetic on behalf of the pvp changes cw wise... But 1. Who's bringing the hate here?! If anything, your quip that cw's are weak(playability wise) denotes that you're the "negative nancy" here calling them weak...

    Thanks for your reply pers. I will read it more carefully and reply when I get home. Just wanna say to others that this was really only a thread about Icy Ray and if it has been nerfed, and if it has, has any other spells been ninja nerfed?

    And I've hit 24k IR in PvP before. :D But yes, around 16-17 mark was pretty standard. And if they balanced out ALL damage for all classes it would be one thing. But if this was a ninja nerf like with the shard damage, then it's just sad.
