Forum feature request

Hi,

My original request was for a dedicated forum:

I've noticed many feature requests in the forums, and see most of them go away to the "no-one-looks-at-this" pages as the forum gets more posts.

So, perhaps we can have a new forum with a sticky with all the feature suggestions and their state as related to the devs. Have they been reviewed, considered or rejected.
And people may discuss those request or post threads at that forum.

I'm suggesting this for gameplay mechanics / ui and such related stuff and not "nerf that" or "class that".

But for now i'll try to keep a list updated:

1. Armor / Weapon Enchants visuals disable. (& TR make both weapons the same visually)
Status: Devs want to add
Discussion:

2. Shirt visuals disable.
Status: Devs want to add
Discussion:

3. Base ability reroll option (agility, int...).

4. Fast re-slotting powers option.

Discussion: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?586571-A-key-bind-request

5. Currency and items tab (from Dardoves post)
  • Give it a sort button.
  • Let us delete currencies.
  • Increase the stack size.
  • Let us buy multiples of things from more vendors.
  • Give us more stuff to buy with seals and other currencies.
  • Let us trade up Seals.

6. inviting people to party mid dungeon (when someone had to leave / disconnected ).

7. Dismount on bank use, mail guy or gauntlet anvil (DR) - or any other solution to prevent people for searching for the right spot to pres "f" and not hitting the horde of people there.
Making some drive-through-able and some not, near each other can be compromise.

8. Account wide bank (or/and fast way transfer items in the same account) .

9. More in game mail management options: (modified from bioshrikes post)
  • Allow us to create folders and move messages into them.
  • Allow us to select messages and choose to delete all those that were selected.
  • Allow us an option to "collect all attachments" for messages we selected.
  • Add an option so we can filter what messages we recive.
  • Allow to see the limit on how many item attachments we can have unclaimed in our inbox.
  • Allow us to view our sent items.
  • Add a trash folder where we can undelete messages from, if needed.
Discussion: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?622151-More-Mailboxes-and-mass-delete-for-Inbox

10. More achievements and rewards for them.
Discussion: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?548591-Achievements-I-would-like-to-see

11. Indicator if the item already in collection when given item choice in DD chest.

12. Easy way to report exploits/exploiters (automatic chatlog, screenshot, and location snapshot ability)
Per stretch's post: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?621531-Forum-feature-request&p=7445541&viewfull=1#post7445541

13. Allow for parties of less than 5 enter epic dungeons.

14. Add ability to not return to specific instance (epic dungeon queuing system).

Either Panderus or one of the other GM's gave a reply on the first 2 in your list , he said that it is something they are tracking and something he wants to add but it isn't scheduled in yet. And yes , a way to track requests would be a good thing instead of having to trawl through search results and stuff.

    Thanks for the info.
And i know the currency one is considered, but i only know it because i had the thread bookmarked.
And there many threads repeating the same thing, only at the time i write this there are 2 threads that repeat the same requests.
I think a more centralized place will help everyone.
Ive edited the original post to resemble what i would like to see (as example).

mabe not necessarily the bank as it is today.
There is only 1 bank, and it is tedious, often crowded and in a way out of reach already.
If I could access the "bank" from wherever I stand in PE this would be useful, but to ride each toon to the bank would be ... imho ... nonsense and tedious.

this actually isn't a bad idea. one of your fellow community members does this exclusively for foundry bugs, fixes and requests. bugs and fixes are definitely one thing but we must keep in mind that requests are not guaranteed even if PWE staff acknowledges them. that's not to discourage anyone from suggesting them, but to appropriately set expectations.

same thing goes for the timeline of when these things may be implemented or fixed. since cryptic's workload priority isn't publicized and likely never will be, we need to make sure that our expectations are set accordingly. this may be frustrating as someone may see particular fixes simple, however the reality of where that issue is in line with other priorities, not to mention the process of isolating issues, coding and QA before they're ready for a preview build, needs to be considered. again, this is not to discourage you from submitting your constructive feedback but to set your expectations accordingly.

I say no to 'no mount zones.' It's fine to auto dismount when something gets activated, but the zone around Rhix is just annoying. Get to close to him and you get dismounted and it persists even after you get further away. Leave the courier as he is as well. All the other mail locations are auto dismount, leave one drive through location.

Guess this isn't the place for it, but I also don't like no-mount zones. BUT- if you activate the mailbox, bank, or talk to NPC, I do wish it would force you off your mount like it does in some places. It is extremely annoying to try to get to the mailbox, 'Press <X> to interact' appears, but you press it and get a thing asking you if want to friend, ignore, invite, or flay 'Mr. MyBumIsGluedToOwlbear.'

I've added the suggestion, but i do hope that a moderator or community manager will take my original suggestion to maintain and perhaps separate it to forum channel.

    Edit:

    Eldarth, thats amazing job.
And exactly the direction i'm talking about. ( I never visit the foundry forums, so didn;t know about it, would have mentioned !)
Though i think that for the entire game requests it should be separated to allow debate ( as example the no-mount zones above). And maintained by someone who follows the forums and has more access to the developers.

At least one feature to block unwanted incomping mails. At present all you can do is report the spam but it's too late, the damage is done.
Since the one and only post by sominator "We"re aware, we're very aware, we could not possibly be more aware" the community is still waiting for something. Since then, Sominator is gone and the spammers are still here, reigning supreme and unharmed.

I would like to see improvements to the queuing system. Especially for Epic Level Dungeons. Allow for parties with less than 5 characters queue for an epic dungeon and enter without requiring the position to be filled. While in the dungeon, allow the party leader to toggle fills on or off. This way if a group wants to have only 3 people clear a dungeon, they can; and if they lose someone, allow them to turn the queue system back on for that instance.

Also, for a person who is joining an instance, allow them to leave and not return. If my friends need a hand and I queue trying to enter their instance, it is frustrating when I go to the same instance with a party I do not want to join multiple times. Allow me to say "Leave Party and Do not return to this instance." Once I do that, have the restriction last until the instance is deleted (or reset)

It would also be nice if we can have different loot options. How about an Auto-Greed option... When used, it acts as if everyone hits greed without the need for a dialog box. (But the loot roll results still shows.) I suppose an Auto-Need option works as well where it is an automatic NEED roll if your class can use the item, or an automatic GREED roll if you can't. Another possibility is an Auto-Upgrade which is like NEED only if the item is an improvement to what your character owns and GREED in all other cases. I should say for the last one, it needs to look at all inventory/bank slots (and probably collections) to make sure someone is not wearing cheap gear in order to bypass the intended results.

Finally, I would request an easy way to report exploiters... Toss it in with request GM help... Let it take a copy of the chat log, list of other players, screenshots, and any other information you need (toon locations, boss/add locations. screenshots, etc.) Make it easier to report and maybe it will help curtail the practice. Have a ticket created and automatically send it to the right person at PWE. It should allow for comments on why you think people are exploiting and automatically remove the person from the party when they do report it. The auto removal should cut down on people abusing the system or falsely accusing others. (But that is still a possibility)

I know I have others, but these have been on my mind lately.

Great idea to keep a list like this, just need to remember to update it as necessary when new ideas are posted.

If we're taking forum suggestions, might I offer creating a Customer Service section for the centralized and timely distribution of game information?

If there's one thing I've noticed playing here, it's that getting information from "on high" is sporadic at best. Players were kept in limbo for several hours recently, for example, because there was no official word until VERY late in the day that there would be no rollbacks over the Ioun Stone fiasco.

I've also noticed that this is one of the few major games (quite possibly the only one) that doesn't have a customer service section in its forums. I know that no company wants to copy another in this field, but A) duplication is inevitable and B) some things are industry standard for a reason - they work.

Another benefit of creating a customer service forum is the opportunity to cut down on duplicate tickets. Right now, if players find a bug, they're forced to submit a report or risk it slipping beneath the notice of... well, whoever it is that does your playtesting. I assume there's someone on staff for that. Currently, when multiple people find the same bug, it creates multiple tickets, which creates the need for either human review (unlikely here) or automated keyword review (more likely but not the preferred solution over the two for reasons I trust are obvious) of the multiple submissions - which, in turn, increases workload and decreases response time.

By centralizing these customer service concerns, a player's got a self-serve method of conflict resolution. They ALSO have the opportunity to pitch in and share information! An EXCELLENT example of how a customer service section could help would have been with the old HUD rearrange bug (that I presume has since been fixed). I was ready to give up on the whole thing until I tried asking in Zone for a few days. Got lucky enough on Day 3 to have someone logged in who knew how to fix it! Whoo! But perhaps the resolution could have been faster if there was a "known issues" section like I've seen on practically every other game's forum?

Here's a prime example of a well-used customer service section in action - by the company voted the worst two years running, no less!

<<Links removed. Do not link to sites for other MMOs on our forums. Thank you>>

Known issues, virtual currency FAQ, how to submit tickets, Top 10 Issues and Solutions - and those are just the stickies. A WEALTH of information, all in one place for developer and consumer alike.

And if EA's not afraid to make a customer service section, NO ONE SHOULD BE. ;)
