Review for Blutsauger Cathedral

I know you haven't been able to create a thread for your quest, so here is one for you.

I played with my level 60 DC. A great dungeon with challenging fights (for a DC).

Play through notes:
-the maps are nicely detailed and the NPCs are active and well placed
-in the GAROU entry in the vampire book you have "shadowy wold" but I think you want "wolf" there
-in the entry for the NOSFERATU you have terrible "order" but I think you want "odor"
-in the player response to the mother mourning her daughter you'll need to add a ' to "won't"
-when talking to the mayor about the size of Ash Grove it would be better to have "to the south there ARE the farms". I noticed the rest of the Mayor's dialogue was grammatically correct (and not inflected speech) so I am guessing this was a typo.
-the fact that the Nosferatu looked like they came right out of the old movie was great
-the stacked encounters in the Crypt of the Unknown Cleric could cause some problems for some levels and classes. You could look into a difficulty setting or providing an optional NPC to help.
-it might be a nice touch to add some lore items or interest items in the dead end areas that the player has to open
-beautiful use of detail in the crypt
-I'm not opposed to the idea that a vampire could seduce any gender they wanted, but some of the dialogue with Drusilla at the end seemed to indicate that my character was male which is not the case
-The last exit is the default "Press F to go to Next Map" that seems odd since there is a gate right behind the Mayor and Sally

I have a thread for Blutsauger Cathedral somewhere around here =D thank you! I will set about fixing these issues. [edit] Everything has been fixed (except those damned stacked encounters muhahaha!) and 500% new lore added to various books in the map.

That's odd, I did a search under your forum name and didn't find one.

I'd back the reviews here, and actually I did on your module post.

This is an original idea with good lore between it, excellently designed environments and a real feeling of dread created in them. The atmosphere is backed up with good combat, though making the final encounter a little smoother might help.

But I had very little to complain about in this one, it was very well done.

I'd love to make that final battle a bit more fluid. I have yet to figure out how, exactly, to do that. I will keep play testing and see if I can think of something. Thanks for the reviews and plays. This was a fun foundry to create. Question: Want it to be bigger and longer? I could always add another level or two and/or expand the crypt if you think it was a bit short. Of course, that would mean you would have to play it again to see the new areas. =D If not, I am debating a campaign 'In Search of Dracula' --a series of quests revolving around a retelling and reimagining of Brahm Stokers Dracula, set in Neverwinter, and adapted for game play.

Just a quick confession: The story for Blutsauger Cathedral is all original. The layouts, costumes, lore, and decor are all my design, but I was heavily inspired by the guy who makes that Ravenloft foundry campaign. He is really good. Blutsauger Cathedral was my attempt to learn how he did what he did. Blutsauger Cathedral turned out awesome...but nowhere near as good as the Ravenloft ones. I do highly recommend checking his quests out. Just look for Ravenloft (under best tab) Ch1 Journey to Boravia and CH2 Ill Fortunes. I hope to get that good someday: wish me luck.

I could also use reviews for A Wayward Heart and GreyCloak and RedDagger. Just saying =D

    I don't know about that,

I played the Ravenloft ones too and the were very good, but honestly yours was better. Could have something to do with the fact his isn't finished. And I did think the Ravenloft ones were outstanding.

Well, I am having an issue with Blutsauger Cathedral. I added tons of new lore and fixed those typos, but...and I do not understand why, Cryptic wont let me update the changes. I have withdrawn the quest and republished with the changes, but the changes are not implemented. I can not even get it to change that grammar problem in the mayors dialogue.

This is probably because you have an old version of the quest in your journal. This has happened to me.
Whenever you republish a quest, you need to abandon it from your quest journal, and pick it up again.
Anyone who had accepted the quest prior to the revisions will play the old version.

    It is finally updated!

Good to know. The problem I was seeing was the time stamp date for publication. It was still showing the last date I made a revision, and I would go into the quest and see that the changes had not been implemented.
