Plague Fire Math

I looked back at some old posts from August about Plague Fire enchantment, but I still don't quite understand the math.

I have 24% Armor Pen and a Greater Plague fire. The threads seem to indicate that the plague fire is still useful because the target can get a negative damage resistance? What is the math behind this. If the Plague Fire procs three times what is happening math wise between it and Armor Pen?

Perhaps the argument isn't valid anymore. A few posts seemed to think that it had been changed since August.

any minus % is actually positive.

say u have -4%; it actually adds 4% to your damage :)

I have done my own log parsing and plague fire DOES bring enemy's resistances into negatives.

there is no such thing as bringing resistances into the negatives.

all debuffs are damage buffs. ignore every tool tip and parse them for yourselves.

each stack of greater plague fire adds 3% bonus dmg. it can stack x3 so +9% dmg, though its very hard to maintain 3 stacks.

    this is so old news....
why cant people understand that all debuffs have no relation to armor penetration?
0-24% armpen whatever you may have, you will still get bonus damage because ALL DEBUFFS ARE ACTUALLY DAMAGE BUFFS

Sigh. Why are people even arguing about if it's a negative opponent def debuff or a positive player buff. The maths is the same.

because a negative opponent def debuff implies that a Mob has a defense score. it implies that there is some relation between what the tool tip indicates and what it actually does. it implies that it is calculated along with armor penetration, and that are both are necessary to "achieve negative resistance," and because the math isn't the same.

Old argument, same topic, different date... Sigh.

    Google and you shall see.

Furthermore, people need to post their /combatlog 1 and/or their math or it just plain doesn't matter.
