Anyone know if they've got a page we can copy chars to the preview server yet? I really wanted to test this on my Cleric, but I can't get the char with my frost shards copied.

Also note that if you have Ad-block plus, you can just block that popup and have no issues doing it... Firefox and Chrome only.

    Happy Frost Testing xelliz!

Without further digression, I loaned my P.Frost to Facex for some PVP testing... Will be nice to have him report back on some PVP results with it.

While untested, frost and frostburn do not appear to stack (they both have the same affect), making it a mute point to run both concurrently at the moment. I have opened a bug report on this however as I think those two should at least stack.

Regardless, no other enchants stack like that so I doubt Frost would be any different.

Another question, how does Frost interact with laying down red? Does it:

Interrupt an attack for which there is already red?
    Prevent laying down new red?
    Only effect regular attacks?

It works on all mob attacks.

In DK last night I tested this and noticed that my DC was able to interrupt the mobs red circles on several occasions.

I have a question about using both the weapon and armour enchants together.
If I hit a mob with my weapon it will be dazed for a few seconds and my weapon enchant will enter in cooldown for that mob. But what happens if that same mob hits me after the daze condition is over and my weapon enchant is in cooldown? Will my armour enchant apply the daze effect, or will the weapon effect cooldown also affect my armour enchant by that moment?
    Thanks

I tested this same action... They do NOT stack... in any way... Bug reported here, but unsure if they saw it:

Does perfect frost have same effect in lesser version? or the ministun and delayed cooldown will be much more shorter?

While there is some controversy in the exact effect duration between lesser to perfect, it can be easily stated that the effects are are the same between lesser and perfect. However, I do stand by my statements that perfect frost has a noticeable impact on bosses when compared to lesser frost enchantments (lesser, normal and greater).

    SIDE NOTE:

Thank you Facexcontrol, Notorious and Leeroy Jenkins for testing this out in PVP!

It seems rather conclusive that the effects ONLY work on players if they have recovery stacked in the first place and does not affect base recovery of encounters. Anything else you want to prove, please do so.

Also thanks to Fauust for trying my P.Frost enchantment out on his new CW in PVE... its effects are very nice overall.

I must agree with the entire thread. I run a 15k DC with HP set and greater terror.....well, until today. After reading this post (and others), I built a lesser frost this morning and hit CN with my group. To say the least, I was completely impressed. I run AS, sunburst and div glow. Upon hitting sunburst, some of the adds just stop and stand still, all dazed and swaying....as your team nukes them. Most surprising to me was that it works with divine AS.....holy added bonus. You cast AS for your team and some of the adds in the circle just come to a complete stop!

After that 1st run I hit the bricks to upgrade it and keep running CN. Finished the day with two 4-man CN runs....start to finish, so smooth! On Draco, the big knight adds were just standing around....it was like I had my own version of DC steal time. As mentioned in the OP, you have to try it or see it in action to realize how well it works.

One of the CW's at the end of the 1st 4-man run...." I don't know if we would have done that without your frost"......

I'm not selling my terror yet, but I may be completely converted to the frost going forward. Such a good DC enchant!!

    Cheers..... St. Pebbo

Yes, I'm running a Frost weapon enchantment and a lesser Frostburn Armor. I've been working like crazy to upgrade that Frostburn - I did the four shards; merged them all, painfully refined and refined (free Blood Ruby came a little too late!) and now have the second Frostburn enchantment to merge, and I finally have the reagent (or whatever the 25K AD thing is from Bazaar) - now saving up to buy a blue coalescent Ward to guarantee the upgrade to a full Frostburn. (Pricey business, this refining.)

The whole defining thing has always been boring to me and I never bothered. Except for this one. I'm (actually(!)) excited to finally upgrade that thing to a full version.

Vorpal? Soulforged? Very good, to be sure. But let the min-maxers have play with those, this is the one I'm loving the most.

From the posts higher on this page, it looks like refining a lesser to normal or greater won't bring a noticeable difference, for the frosty enchant.

Yes, that's what I understand. But as almost all Enchantment visuals to weapons and armor completely RUIN that weapon and armor, I have to say that the Frostburn is actually pretty cool (looks like your armor is totally chilled, with that ice-"steam" hovering off it). But mostly I'm working on upgrading the Frostburn for two reasons:

    1) NONE are available anywhere on the AH (that I've seen) - the best you can find is a (very few) Lessers and a large load of shards, and also: 2) I can say I did what it takes to upgrade the thing myself. A sense of accomplishment, which will make it worth a lot more to myself, sentimentally-speaking. (Anything you work very hard on for yourself is always worth a lot more to you than if you just bought it from somewhere). :)

And not to mention I'll know how rare it is just to have a full version. Maybe by this time -next year- I'll have been able to upgrade it to a Legendary version. (And yes, that's the plan - it's a *goal* for my end-game). LOL

I decided to try this out on my CW, because of the AoEs she has, and I have to say, the results are staggering. Single enemies just stop in their tracks and in hectic battles it can give a much needed reprieve.

Seriously. Good catch on this, guys.

It's official: I was meant to upgrade this to a full Frostburn. I knew this when I received a Blue Coalescent Ward when I invoked and received my 7-Day box this morning.

    Woot!

I've done no testing, but as I leveled my first 60 I noticed, (6 months now)

Monsters used attacks based on Fire and Electricity, not all but enough.

What better counter than weapons and armor to minimize damage or produce damaging effects.

Even starting with the lowly lesser frost/frostburn enchantments the results were noticed.

Good report. Good discussion. Good Enchantments.

So if you are looking for something "different", something that can reduce party damage and do not care about the "best DPS"; I would honestly consider this for anyone with some AOE ability. Personally, I'll be going back to GPF, but will be using this on my DC from now on as it will surely save him from many hits.

Does Elven Ferocity, Augmented Thayan Bastion and Burning Guidance trigger this?

    Hello

Can you confirm that the frost enchant works on bosses ? I took a little time to test, it is actually very effective in PVE where enemies seem paralyzed for 3 or 4 seconds, but I also noticed it has no effect on "immune" (to control) enemies.

Looking back, are you (or someone else ;) ) still recommend this enchantment? You still use it ? :)

I still wonder if it's worth the upgrade (lesser to normal).

    Something new in PVP ?

Really interesting information. A GF buddy of mine said he has been using these frost enchant combos together for pvp purposes, and that they were giving off the same effects that you have listed in the op. If I am ever able to, I will try to get my hands on some of these puppies. Half of using enchantments is the gfx, so will be a plus too hehhe ;D
