Backlit Keyboard turned off?

I have an Alien PC and when I turn the game on it turns the backlighting for the keyboard off. It will come on, in red, as I take damage, but nothing else. How do I get the backlighting to stay on, or is this just how the game works? :confused:

    If you are running alienfx there should be a little alien head in your task bar, right click that and un-check enable 3rd party alienfx access

    I upgraded the bios firmware and the I did not have the problem anymore.
