Under 9000 Guild and Custom Channel for Deliberate Handicapped Gaming

Hi everybody,

The purpose of this guild and custom channel is to allow people to find groups with other people who are interested in 2/3/4-man dungeons, lowering their gear score or handicapping themselves in other ways to make the game more challenging. The way in which you handicap yourself is entirely up to you, however, if a person advertises he is making a group or is seeking a group with a certain gear score restriction with the entire team, please respect or be willing to negotiate that gear score restriction if you decide to join that group or decide to invite him to your group. For simplicity's sake and so people feel no obligation in the way in which they choose to handicap themselves other than a gear score limit, no other type of restriction should be asked of others to follow. When someone helps to fill a slot so that you may 2/3/4-man a dungeon, he is to receive 1 preservation ward for his time, either at the entrance of the dungeon or through the mail before the dungeon. It is important to close the party before queuing so that people who help queue in may leave the dungeon without anyone joining through the queue menu.

Anyone of good character and is interested in having characters in a guild that seeks to bring back the challenge to this game by deliberately handicapping themselves is welcome to apply to join the guild, and should not feel obligated to join the guild with characters other than the characters they want inside the guild. For those who prefer not to join the guild, everyone is welcome to participate as if they were in the guild by joining the custom channel, but are asked to respect the team's agreed upon gear score restriction if they join a gear score restricted team. It is my desire to see both guildmates and custom channel participants able to have the best communication with others interested in this sort of gaming, and so all handicapped gaming LFG communication should be in the custom channel Under9000 (no space between under and 9000) instead of being used only in guild chat.

In order to apply to the guild, please send an in-game message to @chocobofarmer with a brief message stating that you would like to join, and in a few sentences describe what you would like out of the guild. Anyone is welcome to join the Under9000 custom channel by typing "/channel_join Under9000", then "/under9000 hi" or "/chan under9000 hi" in the game in order to communicate with, and search for people interested in low gear score or other kind of handicap gaming, and participate in guild activities as if you were a part of the guild.

Again I would like to re-emphasize, the point of the guild and custom channel is not to force others to follow strict rules of handicapping, but to help people find others who are interested in forming groups where people are interested in handicapping themselves in order to bring challenge back to the game. For example, a control wizard with 8k gear score can still do a lot of damage and steamroll through most content in the game, and this can't be solved by reducing gear score, but only by other types of handicaps such as not using certain encounters which should be self-imposed only instead of enforced for simplicity's sake and to ensure people have a high degree of freedom in deciding how to handicap themselves.

Shortened description. Actively recruiting and asking people to join custom channel and intend to do so for a long time because imo self-imposed limitations and finding groups who like to play this way is the only way to balance the game and will greatly increase replayability :).
