Revert server-merge and bring back old school Mindflayer PVP where things used to die.

Problem solved. :3

I agree, keep the game awesome! Don't make all these changes that's gonna make all the old skool players leave.

I don't think you guys quite get it. For one, most of the senior-most population has well and moved on. For two, this is gear-centric PvP. Imbalances are a result of gear, so adjustments to gear and how they function are going to be the element in addressing that.

The biggest resistance will be toward people who have leaned on strict advantages passing for 'skill' in competitive play. If you want to run with geared people that grind their way to 'earn' content, stick to PvE.

ELO system wouldn't magically fix anything. It's just substituting one set of abuses for another. Until the incentive to game the system is removed, people will game the system. Especially when the system is perceived as unfair to begin with.

I got an idea! how about the OLDschool players learn to play with the new stuff, just because they get used to this certain way of playing blah blah, I look forward to tenacity, gonna make things Not so easy for the Richies who spend their Credit cards to get things ,, nope instead, INSTEAD, they have to farm it just like the rest of us, How tragic, Boo hoo, cry me a river.

...Electric Light Orchestra? When did ELO make it to Neverwinter?
    I'm unhappy and I can't say why.

and to the doom-and-gloom-everybody's-left-this-game-sucks-nothing-could-possibly-fix-the-complaints commentary... i guess we'll see. as long as i've been playing, i've heard and read similar things yet people are still playing. we're a few months before the anniversary of open beta and before long neverwinter will have its one year anniversary. after two completely free modules and a third one on its way, with the devs continuing to work on and improve the game, i just don't see see this change affecting the player base.

Which is quite sad really, because to me it means people really WILL eat up any old offal that's tossed at them and sometimes even pay you to throw it. Think of that what you will, but what it REALLY means is we, the players ultimately have the final say in the matter by voting with wallets. I cast my vote a while back.

The only thing that will change with the new changes in PvP is that players can now choose not to play more PvE, simply spend your real money to buy everything you want with it and do PvP.

Neverwinter + Winter Festival = No expectations.

wana fix structured pvp, look at how gw2 deals with structured pvp, normalized gear rather then people with deep pockets or endless hrs to grind having a massive advange

want to get "Scrubs" like myself who would rather pve out of pvp, give us another way to earn the companion and skull.

    simple...

btw, gw2's "world" pvp sucks, the structured is compedative and balanced, and alot of fun, all about your skill with your skill/stat/ect build not who has the best gear.....nobody gets 1 hit or knock down/knock down/killed by 1 person....

want to keep listening to complaining, do nothing of any real conciquince, and force those of us who would rather pve clog up your pvp ques :)

In all honesty, the Jagged Dancing Blade companion you get from PVP glory isn't all that great. Its active bonus only affects itself, not the player. I've long since shelved mine. Nowadays I only use it for Sword Coast Adventures.

Now, the Dancing Blade companion, that is *awesome*. But you get that with AD.

A lot of us are still playing this game because we've invested a lot, whether it be time or money. I still enjoy this game mainly because I'm in a great guild and have met lots of new friends.

I have no doubts the devs are trying really hard to improve on this game. However, most of us feel the top tiered players are not being listened. There have been so many threads and posts made by loyal players that have been deleted, or even banned by forum mods. Some of them are just pointing out problems such as DC and CW will quite useless if the changes go ahead, and that GWF will be even harder to kill by any other class.

I understand there needs to be some control before threads get out of hand, but when you have so many pages of people saying what is wrong with the upcoming changes, you can't just ignore them. The introduction of Tenacity will be the biggest change to Neverwinter, many of us feel this will be the make or break of this game.

I haven't been PvPing terribly long in Neverwinter, but from my experiences doing leveling-bracket PvP and now doing 60 PvP, it seems like Cryptic is on the right track with normalizing levels as long as stats are being adjusted accordingly (I haven't actually checked on my sub-60 alts). They just need to go a step further now and normalize gear as well. As much as I enjoyed having an edge in PvP with my Mulhorand gear (I'm terrible at PvP so it was nice being gear-carried into average-ness), I admit it was pretty unfair to the people on the receiving end of my arrows who didn't have Mulhorand of their own.

I just want to point out that EVERY MMO IS DYING EVERY DAY FOREVER ALL THE TIME EVERYWHERE.

Ten days after the launch of any given MMO, you will find people saying unironically that the MMO in question is dying and won't last another X months, with X always being less than 12. Every big change the developers make (and most of the little ones that actually get mentioned ahead of time) have a certain reliable portion of the playerbase standing on soapboxes and empty crates doomsaying and preaching the coming of end times.

I wonder if people actually take that stuff seriously anymore.

    LOL.. Well said. :D

It is not uncommon seeing hordes of people try to pass off their personal comments as if it were a consensus of the entire community beyond any reasonable doubt. Doomsayers, naysayers, prophets, those who actually curse the game for a certain change etc.. none of these are uncommon. We see them everywhere, anywhere, in any game -- particularly when it comes to PvP.

But in truth the REAL PvPers...? Sure, they have worries, sometimes they also get vocal, but in the end, they simply adapt.

I've been doing PvP for 20 years. I've been doing it since when they didn't even have the term 'PvP' invented yet. You can bet you're HAMSTER that in every online/internet community I've been in that concerns PvP, there are ALWAYS these doomsayers.

Ofcourse, just as the world didn't end back in '99, the game usually goes along fine. People are more resilient than you might think. A change simply means new meta -- deal with it. :)
Stop making excuses. Be a man.
If you know something to be broken, stop using it.
Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'
