Temporary Transmutation Suggestion

I would be willing to bet that a good part of our community is guilty of utilizing NeverwinterPreview and/or Owlbear to test out transmutations before we "commit" to them.

Why do we do this? Simply put, the live preview screen, which is generally dark and hides much of the transmute is just not enough and the cost high enough to take the chance with. So, we log into the preview servers and test it there.

I would like to propose the following 8-hour temporary transmute whereby players pay a small price in AD, such as 500-5,000 AD to have the transmute stick for a period of 8 hours. After that time, the items separate and go back into ones inventory.

Example:

While excusing my ameteur use of photoshop, one can none the less see how this could easily be integrated into the existing "Change Item Appearance" screen. If you choose to "Try" it, another pop-up window would appear explaining both the cost and the duration of the temporary transmutation.

What do you all think?

That would be interesting... I doubt if the Devs will do it, I mean first I'd like them to let us dye weapons, but it's a good idea IMO. :)

They have a "Honey-do" list a mile long, no doubt, but I thought of it today and figured I would throw it out there.

It's a great idea but I don't think they would add it since all that players would end up doing is just spend 500 ad a day to get the look and never spend the full amount for the perma transmute , personally I'd much rather see the cost of transmute reduced by a large percentage .

Seems to me most of what's needed for an actual preview screen in the game is already there. Why can we not preview an item that's not in our inventory? This is something I think most would love to see. Being able to preview items from the auction house or trade chat and see how they would look on you without having to buy them and have them in your inventory seems so simple, yet could have a fairly large impact on the game. My rogue for example, I see dozens of different daggers in the auction house, that I'm curious as to how they would appear on my character, but I'm not buying them first just to see how they might look. I would absolutely spend more AD in the game if I could preview the appearance of items not in my inventory. If I spend more AD, then I likely spend more time trying to earn AD, or I buy more Zen....either way, it seems like something simple that might help the game bring in a little more money, no?
