Valia's Last Stand

Hi All,

If you have about 10 - 15 minutes to spare I'd greatly appreciate if a couple of you will review my quest "Valia's Last Stand". I put a lot of time and effort into it. It's my first and only quest so far and I will appreciate constructive feedback. It was meant to be a quick quest with some easy mobs you can wipe out for fun and some tougher ones for a bit of a challenge (hopefully). But the main goal was just for it to be fast and fun. Anyway, thanks in advance!

    Hi, lorheith!
I just played your "quest" with my Lev.60. GWF.
    Some advice:

    - ok, this is a hack'nd slash quest, but for every quest need a minimal story

    - detail: the rocks can't burn...
some rock are floatin in the air

    - No music, only in time of the bossfight

    - the enemies are only standing in one spot(add some patrol point)

    - I think, the banner, like an exit, not too good choise

I see that you can use the editor, but I think, you need more work on this quest.
Sorry, the english not my first language!

    Hi tiborrus,

Thanks for the review! I missed those darn rocks. I've totally replaced them with something else now. I've also removed the fire. I wanted to have some fire for effect but as you pointed out. Rocks don't burn. lol. I've also changed the exit to a portal. I'm not sure what else to put for that. Additionally I've added a few more people to find in a different part of the map. So hopefully that will make it long enough for it to eventually become a daily foundry quest. I still have to figure out the music though. It seems no matter what I do I can't get it to play over the entire map. I'm going to work on a few more of your suggestions and if I'm lucky I'll get it done tomorrow and post it again. Thanks again for your time!

I played this with my level 60 DC. I didn't think this quest was ready for a starred review yet. Tiborrus is right in that most authors on these forums will expect more of a story to go with their quests.

I found the last fight to be difficult and the other elites were not easy, so just bear in mind that easy is different for different classes.

You may find that this comes in under 15 minutes for average play once more people play it, I'm not sure if having it be a daily is important to you or not. Something to consider.

    Play through notes:
-You may want to move the location of the stronghold on the overworld map. Right now it is still in the center which is the default placement.
-as noted in the other review some of the rocks that are part of the ruins cluster are still in the air. Using clusters on uneven ground usually means you need to go in and adjust by hand.
-the village ruins near (I think it is Warrior 4) need to be pushed down into the ground some more as 2 walls are floating

    Melinden,

Thanks for taking the time to review my quest! It looks like I have some more changes to make and a bit of a story to elaborate on. I found placing objects on uneven ground to be kind of a pain and tried to lower/adjust them to fit better. But, I guess I keep missing stuff! I'm glad you found that one. Thanks again!

Well, I updated this map right after reading all of your comments but haven't been online much since then. I made several changes based on what you guys said and the map seems to be much better. I'm pretty happy with it and it's now a daily foundry quest! I was never able to get the music to work right and I wanted to tweak the story a tiny bit more. I also couldn't get the ghost at the end to spawn correctly because of the buggy foundry editor. I think I have to leave it as is or it has to go through the whole review process over again right? Anyway I'm pretty excited that it is a foundry quest and overall I'm pretty happy with it. Thanks all for your very helpful comments!!!:D
