Been watching the fighter debates for a while and I play my own fighters a bit more often now. A first has happened with me in my CW crew. Normally a static 4 CW team with rotating DC group. I have been able to change from playing my Pvorpal using CW in this group to using my GWF instead. This is a first since we CW are very big fans of the CW can do anything concept. But a GWF backed up by a CW using P terror, GPF and a PVorpal is putting out massive damage with those 3 CW debuffs. But not more than the Pvorpal CW so it is very balanced. We all know that the CW brings more damage to group with debuffs somthing that a GWF cannot match. So even if the GWF is doing damage comparable to CW's, a CW still brings alot more DPS to the group that is not shown in damage meters.
The reason why the GWF has become popular in the CW groups is simple. He can run into a fight first distract a group of mobs and let the CW's lazily group them up and burn them down. The GWF has found a place as an instigator in a group, and when CW do there thing he brings respectable damage. the GWF works now. But I have seen enough posts about the GWF saying blah blah blah no one feat so low in the destroyer tier should be doing so much. And I do agree with that.
So the one and only change is that the GWF Bleed from Deep gash should be made a class feature for the GWF. All GWF need it. and The Deep gash feat should remain where it is instead it should enhance the bleed up to where it already is with 5 feat points. Basically the feat improves a class feature bleed effect up to exactly the strength it is now with 5 feat points spent in it. This way the Deep gash feat is no essential and GWFs can have the choice of other builds that will still work because GWF's need bleed to be viable.
GF's are not working they never have, and GF fell into a pit of not being useful when the GWF finally got fixed properly. Even if the GWF fix was more of a happy accident. GF need a redefined role as a fighter and that roll needs to be buffer/debuffer. They need more ways to help allies and hinder foes. I suggest making all Buffs from GF 4 piece sets affect the entire party as well as the GF that uses it. Right now all set buffs are either helps the GF or helps the party. the GF needs both.
IE Timeless up to +1350 Crit to entire party.
Grand Regent add 20% of your defense as power to entire party
High General, You grant +10% crit severity to yourself and entire party
When GF bring something like this to a party player will want them even if they are not putting up high DPS numbers. They are buffing everyone else and everyone else likes to be buffed. Also Tab needs to be looked at for GF's to bring more buffing/debuffing and put there tab power on par with other classes tab powers.
I am sorry to say, but GF is just not fun to play. Try a HR or a CW, it's like a totally different game. They didn't care much for the character, "Let's make a GWF with a shield", it's obvious, gameplay is just slash-block-slash. The fact that GF and GWF forums are grouped up already tells you something.

gwf has too many good class features as it is, there are 4 i would like to use all the time, making us lose one more for deep gash would ruin the dps
and gf sucks cause the adds spam cc non stop its a pita to play when you are ccd half the time, unless you bring a lot of cw's to keep mobs under cc all the time, but you dont really need gf then do you ?
I think Playing a GF with a debuffer role, passively, because they have a set bonus is boring and doesn't make him justice.
I like my GF, but I find ridiculous the amount of damage he does and I dont see him being more helpfull without some serious changes in the game.
The few good things GF got were taken by GWF. Huge damage with huge mobility doesnt seem fair to me. GWF didn't need Threatening Rush !
First , let me say that I do not particularly mind the gwf supposedly being weaker than the cw . the problem is the class falls short of what it should be. which is not the case today . Classes must operate before all.
About buffs , I have a slight disagreement on the part of gwf . I am in favor of a " multiplier " of bonus damage / threat / combat advantage for the party (variable priority among destroyer / sentinel / instigator ) based on the amount of enemies hit simultaneously ( x 5 ) , made this feat that would be triggered by specific aoe atwills + destroyer (similar to cw ) . would be more democratic with the rogue / and serve to further enhance our aoe ( apart from the damage of Dailys / ap production with ibs ) . as this would increase critical and not critical , the gwf not need more to get stuck vorpal .
this would be the basis of change I 'd like to see , assuming that the deep gash go into space (which would be a shame ) . Unparalleled aoe class , however, in single, similar to what was in module1 . To compensate for the inefficiency single, the bonus would battle fury full for the team since it had not multiple gwf ( which would increase the usefulness to the party ) .

This a rather elegant solution and i like the op's suggestion. Deep gash should be a class mechanic, that is a feature of the class (not a class feature that you need to slot). It would go up top of the.powers list like chill or arcane mastery does for cws.
Class mechanic:
Critical hits from your massive 2handed weapons cause your opponents to bleed for 5 seconds. The damage from this bleed is based on the attack used to initiate it.
Destroyer feat:
Now adds 3/6/9/12/15% of your power to the damage caused by deep gash.
Ultimately results in no change once feated. Without feat it deals respectable damage ( 60-85% of current dg, need to run tests to verify actual dmg)

one thing we all agree on is that the gwf is a blank check and be a dps aoe enjoys the most diverse possibilities buff. but what needs to be done is that most anyone - not just 1, all - ask,gently, for that formalize a topic about a hypothetical replacement;
with changes in pvp i do not see more reasons for this, but ... rumors run.

My GF is great - 16k conq. with 4/4 timeless. Don't get me wrong I would love a buff if everyone is going to keep qq'ing and these devs actually respond. Hard taunt ET is a huge buff in itself with a bronzewood or better. If you cant hold aggro you shouldn't be tanking and if you're dying hold shift.
