static numbers for map locations

Can we get static location numbers on the map instead of changing constantly

It would be so much easier for new players to find places when someone can say goto #1 and its ALWAYS the same place for everyone

instead of everyone's numbers changing based on open quests

Maybe make open quests a letter instead of number

    I definitely support this. Fixed locations should have fixed numbers, quest locations should have a different identifier.

    Just get rid of the numbers. The icons are static and represent what the npc is related to in game. on the right side list the map legend by icon. In chat tell the people with questions what icon to look for on map and problem solved.

    Yep, problem solved. So if you remove numbers and I tell you "let's meet at the green X":

    You can easily tell where I want you to go? Yes? :cool:

    The only problem is that in this game, unlikely almost any other mainstream MMO, the cursor/mouse has no map coordinates associated with it. So, you cannot give out a coordinate of where you want to go, only where you are currently standing (for example in the map shown above, ryugasirius is currently standing at 1373, 206).

    This is also reflected in console commands. There is only a /loc command (and similar) for current character location. There is none, afaik, for where the mouse is pointing on a map. It would be very handy if there were...

    The lesser but still quite useful alternative, would be as suggested, static global references for "Points of Interest" on any given map.
