GWF and Student of the Sword

According to game's tooltip, it says "Your critical strikes lowers your targets Defense by 3/6/9/12/15% for 5 seconds. Stackable up to 3 times".

What happens if your ArP already ignores all your targets Defense? Does Student of the Sword make it negative or does it simply become useless?

    it becomes a 3% damage bonus per stack

    Normal ArPen stat can only reduce a target's def to 0. However, additional effects, like SotS (..ray of enfeeblement, wicked reminder etc.), can push it negative.

    (Which is why I was so keep to get SotS, ray, and wicked on the Spider Queen last night, since we had a bit of a DPS drop from taking a GF - even though the company was nice :D )
