Vorpal or Holy Avenger

Just wondering which is better for DC -vorpal or holy avenger?

prior to a few days ago, i had been using a lesser holy avenger for some time. I got a lesser vorpal a few days ago, and tried that, and so far, I'm not too impressed. I'm going to upgrade either the lesser holy avenger or the lesser vorpal today, but cant decide on which one?????????I could see the vorpal really shining once it gets ranked up but as a lesser i'd say its about even with the holy avenger.

I play mainly pve end game w/ full MH set, ancient weapons, etc, but am starting to play pvp alot more, if for no other reason than because i am trying to get a raven skull artifact.

If you maintain a decent crit chance (not hard as DC), Vorpal is overall the better choice.

Holy Avenger is a great concept, but I find that the unpredictability decreases its value somewhat and that the actual benefit doesn't scale that well as you rank it up.

I agree with vorphied except for that last part - personally I'd even go so far as to say that for a DC the value of the Holy Avenger actually goes down as you improve the enchantment.
The thing is, the low proc rate of Lesser Holy Avenger helps because when you're not spamming your powers that usually means that your party is in good shape. It's during the more intense fights that you start using encounters once after another and you start spamming Punishing/Soothing Light - and thanks to how Holy Avenger can proc on healing/damage-over-time ticks you can actually force Holy Avenger procs in such cases. Compare to Perfect Holy Avenger, where a single Sunburst on unimportant trash mobs has a good chance to proc the buff. Result - your enchantment now has virtually no other value for 60 seconds except for the extra %weapon damage per hit.
While I believe Perfect Holy Avenger does have value for a few very specific cleric builds (like the ones that prefer to stand in the middle of all the action) I wouldn't recommend it to your average DC.

A Lesser Holy Avenger easily outshines a Lesser Vorpal. Vorpal only becomes better at Greater or Perfect levels, imo.

Isn't that kind of what I hinted at by stating that the benefit doesn't scale well as you rank it up? :P

I have a Perfect HA and I've found the proc rate to be useful. I can usually get it to proc after Astral Shield - Bastion to proc Linked Spirit- using Astral Seal on things in descending order of hp by the 3 or 4th hit. And in boss fights like VT you certainly want it to proc on Valindra as soon as possible.

Honestly, in terms of PvE, by the time you hit Perfect so is everyone else, and whatever you pick it makes no real difference compared to your build and gear and encounter rotations.
