Ok.. so I've earned a few tips from my foundry quests. What are these tips and what are they used for?

Tips are is AD, and can be withdrawn for use.
I wasted five million AD promoting the Foundry.

You mean astral diamonds? Those things that if you have, like, several million you can buy a hat or something? That doesn't seem hardly worth the effort... like paying a worker 3 cents to dig a pool with a spoon.

Well it is a tip, not a payment. I consider it a nice gesture from the player and it helps make up the fact that often authors are working on quests instead of doing dailies. Nothing more really.

Also keep in mind that AD is the currency that you trade Zen for, so it does represent real money to some extent. Cryptic could have decided to just have tips in gold.

I do seriously apologize.. My comment was not meant to slight the people who have given me tips. It was simply a comment on the EXTREMELY HIGH PRICES of everything you can purchase in this game.

I just wish the upper tip limit were higher. I'd gladly tip 1,000 or so for a UGC quest I really enjoyed.
It's not like I'm not gonna make that up in praying for 5 seconds.

They do add up. I've gotten over 30k AD for my 4 quests so far.
My opinions are my own. I do not work for PWE or Cryptic. - Forum Rules - Protector's Enclave Discord - I play on Xbox

You don't create for payment, if your did you would look to a gaming company for employment. instead create adventures if it is something you enjoy doing. Its a bonus when 29,000 people play it! I used to create adventurers for my friends, then the rpga and living city and greyhawk. This by far gives the biggest audience for a dm to tell his or her dnd stories.

    Enjoy the experience.

I think you make a valid point. It's great that people can tip us but it does not come even close to being really worthwhile. Authors spend a huge amount of time in the foundry and the AD you get should reflect this. The game is built around it so why should authors miss out? then again would it not just be another way for exploitation.

Haha, only another 350k to go and you can buy a bag. ;):p

Again, this is another thing hit with the giant nerf hammer that they used as a selling point back in development to attract interest. If they allowed larger tips it would eat into their zen profits.

Its a nice gesture from player to author, for sure, but a pretty lame implementation from Cryptic in my opinion.
