Played in beta, never had that problem ... come back to try live, wait 40 minutes for group, only to find the entire instance bugged out -- no mobs, no progress, no loot, no rewards. But, apparently it cleared my quest objectives ...
Almost as bad, even after the party broke up I'm still being told I've got a full party already, & that I'm the party leader, but I couldn't figure out how to leave the group ... I figured right-clicking my character portrait would give me that option, but no.
Ugggggg.

Previously you could not queue into a dungeon after the first boss was killed. This created a problem where if anyone left the party early the dungeon often could not be completed.
So to fix that issue. The queue was changed to allow folks to join open spots in dungeons at any point, even during the final boss fight.
What most likely happened to you, was someone dropped. Or was kicked. During the final fight. And you happened to get placed in the group just as they were done and leaving.
Obviously the fix, created more problems then the initial problem. Its just something we are all learning to deal with until its hammered out properly.

We never got to the first fight The quest path I had led to a blank wall & stopped. We then ended up running around the rest of an entirely empty dungeon, found an exit, & left. The queue system was acting up from the second we all entered the dungeon. So far as I could tell, the system appears to have updated at least part of the quest, but I could be wrong about that.
Thank you for the information, though. I'd seen people talking in zone chat about it & gotten the impression the dungeon itself is kinda buggy, then when it happened to my group I just assumed that's what people were talking about. It's nice to read differently

I've never had a problem with the dungeon bugging up, normal or epic. As said, the queue is not working well now. When I ran my newest characters through the normal version, we had to go through the front door as the queue never popped - we had a full party and were all of the appropriate level. For the epic version, the only solution, sadly, is to form your own party and then queue. If you have a group of five, no matter what the composition, you should eventually get in. Sometimes if it takes awhile for the queue to pop, leave the queue and enter it again.

I've seen this as well and I believe it's an issue specific to the Cloak Tower dungeon. There is a secret door where that blank section of the wall is that is supposed to open but never does. Of course, the fact that that instance stays in the dungeon queue system (people keep leaving and then the group is filled up with people from the queue) is also an issue.
Ironically I started playing just after Module 2 was released when most of the high level dungeons were bugged (completed instances weren't removed from the dungeon queue) and never had an issue with Cloak Tower while leveling. Then I started playing alts just after the patch they released to fix the problem with completed dungeons remaining in the queue system and every single Cloak Tower instance I got I got into at the bugged wall.
Presumably the devs are aware of the issue by now, though.
