Unless I'm just stupid and it's not guild only, please correct me
As far as I can tell though, GG is guild only which bugs me. Why can't we just join a faction ourselves and open up GG to a normal PvP queue with soloes, 2's 3's whatever. Still keep it on a schedule, I don't care. It would be like certain PvP zones in a certain other MMO. I think a lot of solo players would like to experience something on a scale bigger than 5v5 and people just don't always want to deal with joining guilds or forming a group.
Plus, I don't like when things are put out of reach for a playerbase. By this I mean that T2 "PvP Gear" is exclusive to GG runs, people who love to PvP will never get it unless they join a guild. Meanwhile, a PvE player COULD still earn T2 gear without a guild just running epic dungeons(this will probably go faster WITH a guild though obviously).
Having never done GG I don't know if I'm missing something and you need to have seriously organized guild group action to do it or not, but considering if it's designed(the PvE part) like every other dungeon etc I've been in, it's just dealing with adds etc.
Thoughts, opinons, gripes?

I honestly don't know, I know it is Guild Only but I can't even remotely think of the reasoning behind it. Let's just say there isn't any.

It's mostly irrelevant considering you can form your own guild thus nothing is locked out, with a bonus of gaining shared bank space for your alts. Besides if you loved pvp you would already belong to a pvp guild for premade action anyway.
The necessity of guilds in entirely artificial, and (in the context of NW) propped up only by Gauntlegrym. Being in a guild in any MMO comes, for me at least, with sort of a sense of restraint. There are perks, sure, but most of those tend to be reserved for the guild's elite. For a casual player, guild membership creates more responsibilities than privileges.
Personally, I joined a guild for no other reason than to get a chance to see what the whole GG thing was about. Then, having found out (and seen that the rewards were in fact kinda cool), I ended up going in solo 99% of the time, joining the PvP queue on my own and PuGing for the crypts. Being a guild member is a purely technical necessity, not a practical one. Now that I've got my whole class set and the accompanying title, the only thing really keeping me with the guild is a sense of obligation.
That all sounds like I'm complaining about the guild itself, but I assure you I'm not - the members are perfectly nice people and almost always willing to help; in point of fact I'd go so far as to say it's one of the better guilds around. Guilds are quite simply not my thing.

You're not really missing much but it is an easy way to get half decent gear from the currency if you run it a lot , just recruit a few helpers in PE for a few gold each and create your own one man guild if you don't want to be in a guild with other players and as somebody already pointed out you will have the advantage of a guild bank just for yourself .
