I just finished leveling a Control Wizard to 60 after starting her during the initial weeks after open beta started(I have the Cat-astrophe cape to prove it) and I was wondering what the consensus on the next best is. I know in PVP that GWF freaking wreck me(so I don't pvp very much), but having completed my ranged damage character, I usually start a tank or a healer, but I'm curious as to what the community thinks.

    Gear. Companions. Boons.

60 is when the game begins my friend. You have plenty to do with your CW. T1, T2. Eventually you can even get to where you can challenge the GWF. :)

This, it takes far longer to complete your character at 60 than it does to actually level to 60. I'm by no means the fastest with leveling but I can do it in two days of playing, where getting all the boons etc takes weeks.

Try making your wizard a foundry.

Well, I found my GWF's the easiest to level up, and they are very good at soloing. There are some really cool weapon & armor skins in Shadowmantle - so maybe try to gear up without just buying off the AH.

As others have pointed out, you can also focus on gearing up your existing CW...

Try different build and style find one that is most effective and also favorable by yourself.

CW is god in PVE, you should only lose to another CW when it comes to DPS chart.

And yes you can carry through a whole team in T2/T1 dungeon if you are well geared/skilled.

I have a TR lvl 60 (first time ever max level), and I was surprised at how much fun she is to keep playing. But that said, I really enjoy my GF, CW and DC, too. Maybe the GF most of those. The HR has her moments too, but after playing the TR, I found the HR somewhat dull. The GWF was crappy at launch, and I only played her to lvl 22 or so. Even that was a pain. But I tried her again recently, and found her to be a ton of fun. No idea why, but I'm not complaining. :)

So if you want my suggestion, I'd say GF or GWF. GF for protection, GWF for rampaging like a maniac. :)

Boy do GWFs rampage like maniacs, the insane mobility and face smashing is insanely fun. I highly recommend rolling one.
