Delzoun bow or Grand Warden's bow?

There are secondary buffs for each but is it better in general to have more power or higher damage chance?

Delzoun bow: 1041 power, up to 765 Dam
Grand Warden bow: 905 power, up to 802 Dam

    I think 1 Damage = 20 Power

It's usually better to have higher damage vs any stats.

    So go for Grand Warden.

I am totally shooting from the hip here...

I think the Damage number is simply the damage cap and that Power number is the amount of damage per hit. The cap applying to the power stat + any enchantment add-on stats. So, without enchantment stats the Delzoun would be better by itself, but with enchantments that bring the bow up to the damage soft cap (Damage number) - the Warden bow would be better.

Like I said - I'm totally guessing here, but based on logic alone and some deductive reasoning based on how Star Trek Online and Champions Online equipment works (and those are Cryptic's other two games which work amazingly similar to Neverwinter).

Any min-maxers who can explain the OP's plight more confidently/accurately here? Please do! :)

Thank you for your responses. I may try testing both but I'll have to learn how to do the combat log thing

Short answer: Grand Warden bow is better.

Long answer: The damage range is what the bow itself contributes to the attack. So between the two the grand warden will contribute 37 extra points of damage to the attack. However that does not mean it's the better weapon just by its attack power. You need to also consider the enchantment, which in the case of the delzoun is higher. At roughly 20-1 ratio the 136 extra points of power translates to roughly 7 points of damage, shifting the advantage to only 30 points in favor of the warden. The delzoun also has nearly double the ArPen over the warden, so depending on your current and projected ArPen score this could be beneficial or completely worthless. Typically if you're working with Grand Warden you've already hit the soft cap on ArPen, so losing a bit won't affect you while the extra stats on the warden will only benefit you

You make my head hurt. This is why I'm not a min-maxer! LOL

Thank you for your description. I'll keep working on parsing it into sense for me. :)

Well I try not to think of myself as a min-maxer though I guess I do kind of come off that way. I just like knowing every aspect of my chosen character class, and I particularly enjoy sharing that knowledge.

And it's no problem at all. I'm still myself learning a lot of the more archaic pieces of character optimization, but I'm happy to share what I have
