Hi all, While i wont profess to be any kind of true master on what is and what isn't best for this particular class I will say that i do have a lot of experience both playing and talking about this class. So i'd like to make myself available to answer any question you may have or to provide my own feedback on some conversation topics.
A Little Background on My Style of GF- Im a Tiefling and started off wanted to shell out top notch pve dmg figuring i could round out a naturally tanky class with a glass cannon style that would work in both pve and pvp. Since the initial creation of this character i've changed my tune up a little and have now gravitated toword heavy survivability with aggressive ccing abilities especially as i gravitated more toward pvp play.
I am now a 21 tactician 10 Protector spec, CON/Dex ability scores and running 2 Piece High Gen with Spider Helm at around 1800-2k regen and 36k hp. And have been in frequent converation with players like Steamroller, and Scroto as well as others who are no longer with us.
So lets have at it!

Thanks for your help I have quite an experience myself on Gfs, but there are still some nebulous topics. My main concern is : PBW vs GPF. Please explain pro's and con's, under the point of view of a conq GF (dps-wise and aggro-wise). Some math would be appreciated too. Thanks again.
36k HP is pretty decent. You should get more deflect IMO and ditch spider/youth boots for a 2pc set bonus setup.
PBW = a -16% DR debuff on a target that affects ALL group members dmg. It has a 10 second up time and a 10 second down time meaning in a DPS fight its up half the time making it CLOSE to but not exactly a -8% DR enchant 100% uptime on a single target. With mobs once you kill a mob itll be available for the next so in an ACT itll be a larger dmg boost. Just depends on how long it takes to kill a target and move to the next 1 etc.
GPF stacks are great in theory but the stacks fall off quickly. At MAX stacks you will mitigate 45% of the targets defense. At max stacks GPF > PBW however if your not 100% uptime attacking a target stacks fall off quickly and with only 1-2 stacks up, thats only 50% defense and I would wager less than a PBW.
The extra umf comes with the damage and the DOTs this has nice utility, not a ton of dmg but helps. Should also be noted PBW only procs off encounters versus GPF is all attacks
For PVE id say GPF may be better. You might have higher damage numbers with PBW because of trash ads and the timing, for instance if a mob only lives for 15 seconds it was up for 10 seconds.
Another note: PBW is a per target availability so if you proc it, and attack a mob and kill it, it can still proc on a different mob for the same benefit.
For a Boss long duration DPS fight, GPF will probably win out.
IN pvp because of the way GPF stacks, Id probably run PBW because its more about burst dmg and you wont have 100% uptime on GPF procs.

Do you own a PBW? plz go test it before you claim its effect...

ok i got a question for you my Conq and Tact GFs are just fine but never could perfect the protector tank im going with the full Grand Regent set because it is tanky as all, BUT the idea of low power, low armpen, low crit, and low recovery is a PITA. i have plenty of rank 7 enchantments to choose from but getting frustrated with it all.
I think Candy's build is pretty legit. It leaves room for changing the gear around a bit too now with the artifacts. Other than a DOT'ing rogue I haven't had a lot of trouble fighting any class. Unless of course it is a Rank 10/Perfect enchant GWF. Then it is just whose teammate comes in to help, or he runs away after he soulforges in unstoppable to live another day...

No doubt.
But the thing is that the chance u got to kill something on premade match or 1v1 is equal to zero.
The build might be nice but its considered more of a Guardian (troll tank).I personaly think that the whole tankish trollish gear alocation can be simple replaced by the Iron Warrior Encounter and you get the same effect on your toon which is simple to DIE HARD .
Im a fan of more Hybrid builds so im pretty happy with what i did on my GF.
Dispite the high hp pool and def/deflect % i still managed to keep 21% critical and 28% ArPen which allows me to hit for over 13k critis.
Just put under consideration that there is more to the Guardian Fighter class then simple be a Turtle shell...
So good luck on being a Static Player Control Dummie and having fun with it....
...After all its all about having fun
do y'all know of any guilds that are dedicated specifically to the advancement of the guardian fighter class? learning to be a better tank interests me much more than anything else a guild would normally provide.

Yep and I can do 13k too. A Naked GF can crt upwards of 22k with the right build.

GF do not have much love right now due to the current PvE meta. 1 DC & CWs.
The game is designed to allow any team composition in PvE, this means tanks are not required and it's actually faster for geared groups to just zerg DPS all trash & bosses.
