Launcher problems

when I try to launch the game I get an error that I'm unable to connect to the patch server most of the time and if I actually manage to get the launcher open so I can put in my password I get an 'unable to authenticate' message and don't get to log in

    wired connection, tried resetting router, resetting modem, having no problems with internet connection otherwise.
