Packet loss to NW servers

I was experiencing ridiculous lag before the servers reset (right after the 30 minutes warning) so I just ignored it and tacked it up as something to do with the reset. However, post-maintenance, I was experiencing the same thing, so I did a bit of testing.

I pinged Google (local node) and Neverwinter's server (208.95.185.41)

Results for NW Servers were:
Ping statistics for 208.95.185.41:
Packets: Sent = 80, Received = 71, Lost = 9 (11% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 35ms, Maximum = 124ms, Average = 43ms

Results for Google were perfect, 0% packet loss. I also pinged Yahoo, Facebook, and a couple other random sites that came to mind. All perfect.

For those who don't know, any packet loss is bad anything above 0% leads to disconnections. I'm experiencing 11% packet loss, which essentially means the game is entirely unplayable. I had a buddy test as well, and he experienced 1% loss and a bit of lag. Nothing serious on his end, but the game is entirely FUBAR on mine.

Just wondering if the NW devs/networking team are aware of the current issue.

    Are you sure it's those two? I've had CrypticError.exe do that while trying to send an error report. Everytime I've killed it, my internet resumes normal functioning.

    Yes I am sure, I run arc to get NW launch and it sticks on connecting... I go directly to NW.exe and does the same. Even when I leave arc running in my system tray my network becomes choppy or unresponsive, if I manage to get in game its mad rubber banding etc. Tech support also told me it was my ISP but it really is not! I read they did find a problem according to a recent post on Facebook, though that forum is now closed and no answer or fix? Cryptic Error also normally hangs when requesting a ticket :(

    @nubc3ke7331 I feel your pain almost an entire months worth of coins/AD poof gone week by week and with so much else to grind! I am hoping it will be sorted soon :rolleyes:

    Thanks for the feed back all!

    Ping alone doesn't tell you, though, which node on the route is causing packet loss. Hence, the reason we ask for a traceroute or a pathping.

    Anyway, we have a stickied thread to address lag and rubberbanding, and this thread is pushing a year since last post (not counting the posts made today). Therefore, it's considered to be dead, and as we have a sticky already addressing this issue, it is also redundant.
