We all hate it when we fight a mob in a zone to get the chance at opening a chest only to find some jerk left something inside for you. We also know why this happens as there are really only two reasons for it (which I'd rather not discuss).
In any case, I would like to propose a series of solutions to the constant issue of being robbed of chest loot from adventure zone maps.
1) Add a table to the player database that remembers the HAMSTER they left in the adventure zone chest. CSV EXAMPLE: Az_Sha,Chest_02,ItemNum,Ring_01,ItemNum,Belt_01
2) Randomize chests being mimics to reduce "automated" looters and add some fun to the mix.
3) Further limit the number of times one can switch instances, or at least stagger the time needed between switches.
Having played this game since early-alpha, I'd say this is one of my top annoyance that could be remedied with option 1 above.
If the SQL database resources for doing such were that great to implement, I would be MORE than willing to donate an Intel Xeon E5 Rack or Blade server with sufficient RAM and Windows licensing to satisfy it. Seriously, it is that irritating.

There are a lot of issues with how loot is created/handled, that need to be addressed. For instance, the fact that no one on a team can loot while a loot roll is taking place.
I do like the idea of having chests randomly be mimics, to keep thing interesting, but in the long term, would prefer they simply have the chest spawn specifically for you.

I sometimes got such a loot, too. But aren't chests work differently from skill nodes that when you open a chest you create your own loot instance which other players can't access? I thought what OP describes only happens to skill nodes.
i am going to recommend to the OP and to others that agree with the OP to please submit this via an in-game bug report. whether this is WAI or not, i highly recommend that these suggestions be submitted directly rather than having this as an open discussion as this could lead to an improper discussion. which we're not going to go into.
