Lockbox Item Drop Frequency

I do this in other games as well, and see it happen over there so people can decide through the forum weather its worth opening boxes for them or not in general.

I have not opened any of these boxes yet myselfe, but I might do that today or later this week. Are you willing to share what you get from the boxes? You can split it up by main items (which are shown on the description on the lockbox) and from there split it up into items from special packs, like the Artifact Profession Pack -->> What you get from them and how many.

I myselfe consider certain topics very usefull for many people! It also serves as a base to decide weather it's noticable that Cryptic changes drop rates and from when they did so.

I've gotten mostly Leadership Asset packs from the Rusted Iron boxes. I opened maybe 30-40 of them and came away with 4 blue leadership guys and maybe 6 or 7 greens. Next most common thing are the Astral Doohickeys that you trade to Rhix. After that its a pretty even split between Tarmalune trade bars, enchantment packs, and those no level req Mulhorand items -- think I got 5 of those.

Out of those 30-40 tries, did you get any of the artifact profession packs? Including an artifact perhaps? I am considering opening boxes for an artifact and some of those thayan items. But I guess it might nearly be better just to buy the Zen and convert it to AD right away and buy the items I need straight away :-)

I opened like 5 of them, got nothing useful (leadership greenies and random stuff). Purchased 5 more keys, sold in AH, bought a Rust Monster (also got some leftover AD). That's pretty much the best way to get nice stuff if you can't afford hundreds of keys :P

I opened many lockboxes of all kinds (probably 2/3000 in total since I start playing) in average it seems you can gain a little but you spend so much time selling things that it's not worth.
The only periods I actually had significant gains where when this boxes came out (for about 2 weeks after they come out I would suggest oppening) but after that you only get into a race of "who sells cheaper" with all other players who open them and at a point you will start loosing.
The nice timing already ended for Iron lockboxes too, also you may try opening when keys are some % off, but again you'll get in some race of who sells cheaper with other players, so it's not convenient to do it all the week.
In the end, of course, it mostly depends on luck too.

I opened 60 boxes.

Got 2 Blue Artifacts, the healing one.
Mabye 10 Leadership packs, with 5 having blue adventurers in them, the others had green.
About 5 or 6 of the Epic Armor/Weapons with no level requirement.
I think I got 14 Planar Resonators.

The rest was the usual HAMSTER.
With the artifacts I did pretty good since I bought the Zen during the last promotion, and the keys were on sale.

Did my wording look like I was blaming? I didn't mean to blame you. Maybe I should begin with "Here is some statistics..." instead. Sorry for my bad English.

I should of kept track... but I opened around 200 lockboxes and the memorable things I ended up with:

Artifacts:
2 - Wholesale
3 - Waters
5 - Lanterns (I know, right?)

40(ish) Leadership Packs (Mostly Man-at-arms - ZERO Heroes.)

50 Resonators (probably more... I lost track while turning them all in)

I would have to guess 50 or so equipment boxes with the purple req-free items.

FIVE (5) Rust Monsters ---- ZERO AoW... :(

I think I only hit 4 jackpots.

I definitely feel these lockboxes are worth opening more than any of the others. Nightmare being second, for me at least.

Planning on opening a few more tonight, I'm actually going to track what I get this time
Characters:
Finnigan - Dwarven Guardian Fighter (60)

Dharov - Dwarven Control Wizard (In Training)

Reikaku - Dwarven Trickster Rogue (In Training)

Haha, I think we stack missunderstandings here :-) Although I never took your comment as blaming, I just like to apologize out of courtesy in general if I overlooked something, like this topic which I could have found by using the 'search' function :-)

No Prob. Like I said, I just made an excel sheet, so I'll keep track of the lockbox contents as well as the contents of the packs.

mod note: i've consolidated three threads into one single thread. since there is only one single dropbox actively dropping at any given time (except for the short event that had the return of all dropboxes) and there have been previous discussions about the older lockboxes item drop rates, there should only be a need for a single thread for this. thank you.

do not discuss this moderation note or action in this thread. send us a PM instead. thanks.

May I say thank you though? If so, thanks!! :-)

With my guild storage space it's easy for me to stockpile lockboxes, so when I have extra AD I spring for the Zen to buy the 10-pack of keys and I open a few. In that manner, since my AD farming at level 60 has been operating efficiently, I've probably opened around 1000 lockboxes. Out of the ultra-rare mount rewards, I have three Nightmares, an Owlbear, and an Apparatus. I've gotten four Phoera but no other epic companions. The new Rusted Iron box has been profitable for me: The Thayan relic gets me much closer to my campaign goals and the AH fodder has nearly made me back my AD investment in Zen thus far. I honestly laugh at the people who claim to never have picked up a lockbox. If you're playing endgame content and you're not regularly putting together the AD to buy Zen to get keys, IMHO you're playing the game wrong...

I've opened a lot of lockboxes lately, and though i didn't keep numbers, I think Feywild boxes might be the most profitable if any of the boxes can be really profitable, Aranea is selling in the near 4 million ad mark and I sold a stag for 2 million.
