Best PvE healing/preservation Cleric build

I've been absent for a long while and I'm recently returning to find a huge amount of changes. Two new campaigns, lots of new paragon paths and finally, the Ranger class.

Probably one of my favorite classes to play was the DC, but I've had a feat reset and I'm completely clueless what has changed and how to play the Cleric to it's maximum effectiveness.

Just wondering what the best Cleric build for pve is.

No one can answer u abt that. No BEST build no matter pve or pvp, just the most suitable build for u to do ur stuff, for example if u need some survivability, put some points into righteous, some into faithful if u want to out heal everything and thus ignore the damage taken or virtuous to boost team powers.

There are 4 roles of cleric now and each of them takes different items and ability/feat/power.
    1. The rare Dps glass cannon (but common in pre-60)
    2. Normal healing pve cleric
    3. Gctrl base pvp halfling dex/con cleric (Tank cleric)
    4. New Anointed Champion based Buff/Debuffer

Each of them do different thing so what is your build? buff allies while healing? pure healing? can heal much but can tank adds a little? heal while doing damage? or hybrid that sacrifice some and gain some abilities? make your own build and stick to it, theorycraft a little and that will do.

Like Jazzfong says, I'd hesitate to say there a single best build, but if you don't mind a bit of reading I have compiled a resource regarding powers, feats, gear and paragons so you can make the best decision for you and a sample build you can try out. The build is for versatile PvE support- healing and buffing and some DPS capacity should you ever need it. If you're looking for maximum effectiveness, that's probably what you're looking for.

I'm in the same boat. I used to use this build and really enjoyed it. It's quite the feat to go through all the patch notes and see if it's still valid. Is anyone still using that build? Last time I played was around the time they changed Astral Shield, so go figure. :)

Elf (sun elf) 20/20/20, racial into int. Anointed Champion.
Substitute those DO powers with AC powers

Follow the paragon feats position and not the feat i picked. The new calculator isnt out atm.

    PvP (Dire)
    SF/BoB SB/Ex/AS AA/DF AA/DA
    PvP (Easy)
    AS/BoB SB/Ex/AS AA/AHS AA/DA
    PvE (Dire)
    SF/BoB HW/Ex/AS AHS/DF AA/DA
    PvE (Easy)
    AS/BoB SB/DL/AS HF/AHS AA/DA

Hope you all understand what i wrote here. That is my way and my gear utilize every gs i can, lower recovery (2k+) but high recharge and high AP gain (20 cha 14 int), stack all power in offense slot, 1.6k crit but more than 30% crit because of my 20 str. Regen from blue BRS rank 46, thick gristle belt and boon, def 2k+, deflect gained by slotting rank 5 silvers, rest allocated into little Arp and life steal. Remember, Arp is better than lifesteal, FF heals more if we hit harder with it. Recovery is not important and no need to stack more than 2k (stop at 2.3k), our virtuous feat will boost it by 15% in battle so we get more Diminishing Return if we got a higher recovery. Not to say we have Linked Spirit which further boost all stats by 25%.

I go Buff/Debuffer while giving nice supports/heal to teammates. My aim is to buff my allies as far as i can because i trust stronger allies can help you to survive more than go righteous path, EVEN in PvP. Agree? A strong GWF or HR or CW or TR or GF (except DC) can kill all your enemies if their stats are better than opposite team before u die, not to say with debuff from High Prophet set they die faster... hehe.... :D
Like 13k gs team versus 9k gs team, i wonder what will happen?

If you want a balanced PVE build, check the one I posted. Very strong heals on it. If you have questions, let me know.

There seemed to be a mixed reaction to that build. I'm not saying it doesn't suit your play style, but some of the comments appeared to be on fairly fundamental point placements from experienced players.

I'm not one of those and don't pretend to know as much as others who take the time to write guides. What tends to confuse me is when a guide does come out and several established players raise fairly fundamental issues with it.

I see a note saying you revised the guide. Was this in response to those comments?

I posted an outdated screenshot and feat build (from the calculator) and people got their panties in a bunch over it. Oops! My fault I guess for rushing the post. My build works no problems though. Trust me on that.

Yes sir. There is also a lot more involved synergy wise with group make up that I cannot go into as they are close guarded guild secrets :). It's not just about the cleric build...

Close-guarded guild secret = Have players that don't suck. Not much of a secret. I can, and do, heal crazy guild groups with people barely geared for the dungeons and with little experience in the dungeon...but can easily heal them as long as they are not violating the basic rules...like 1) don't stand in the fire 2) don't stand and get lambasted 3) don't stand in the fire 4) use pot/ability management 5) don't stand in the fire. If you can get your group to not stand in the fire you can usually figure out what to do and win. Oh, there is one other thing your group must learn about.... don't stand in the fire.....fire = red sht on the ground....yeah don't stand there.

Oh yeah...if you aren't a tank or skilled player...don't pull......aaaand don't pull HAMSTER tons of groups. You just won the game. GG

lolol I just read your guild info....I had a dude from that guild try to train half of VT. I told them not to do that again or I'd let everyone die............close guarded guild secret was to pull every group so they alllll died. :) I lived and left, they called me a ****.

(I'm sure most of your guild does not operate that way, but I about pissed myself when I seen what guild you were from and LOL'd pretty hard---Guild Secrets and all ;) )
