What do I do?

I just returned to the game after a 6 month (or so) hiatus. Two new content releases have occured since I've been gone and I'm fairly confused.

What I'm wondering is what I do now? I've done the first few quests in the Dread Ring, but it wants me to wait a day to complete the quest (sorta dumb). How can I work on my progression? I have 3 toons fully geared in t2 sets + castle never weapon sets and i'm not exactly sure running more t2's is gonna help me. The campaigns seem to be the only way to progress but a lot has changed, so here I am asking questions!

The campaigns are dailies. They gated them this way so people don't burn thru the content.

Just begin doing the dailies in sharandar and dread ring. Each area has a weekly quest and 3 daily quests. Sharandar actually has 3 sub areas with 3 daily quests each which are alsp time gated. The real progression here is boons.

Your long term goal for the campaigns should probably be the boons.

With Sharandar the main thing is the Feywild Sparks. If you're not buying them, this will be what takes you the longest to get. It won't seem that way at first. But after you've unlocked everything else you will still need the sparks to get the boons. There is only one daily quest that gives you sparks. And one weekly quest. The main thing is to make sure you get those done. Then finish up the others as want/need. Again, that is mainly if you aren't buying the sparks. (There is a relic from a lockbox that can be traded for sparks. Use to be plenty of them on the AH, not sure anymore.)

Still new to Dread Ring myself. But again there is a daily/weekly you need to do. The ones from Knox. As far as I can tell the other quests only reward you scrip. Which you can get from the bounty person if need anyway. I'm not very far into this campaign though, so I could be wrong.

Both of the campaigns also have a dungeon you can unlock. With gear that has slightly more stats than the regular t2. And a different stat allocation. Not all of its dropped though. For some you'll need marks dropped in the dungeon. Or parts for crafting (mainhand weapon).

Appreciate the informative response! So essentially nothing has changed since I last played aside from daily grinding. Sounds good, thanks!

the best advice anyone could give you is to dive into the game and play it. if you didn't like it six months ago, chances are it hasn't miraculously changed enough to impress you now. but you would never know that from a forum post seeking advice. the game is free to play with free content being added nearly every 3-4 months thus far.

you can also check out the patch notes section to get updated on what's new as well as the news blog.

    enjoy!
