Crafted Hunter off-hand, is it OP?

I noticed the Gemmed Hunter's Blades +6 has 598 max dmg, and the BiS from VT has 503. Anyone able to confirm is the damage is actually that high?

    It is not OP if you are doing a range spec only and it is not OP if you ar melee spec only as there are other epic items that do more damage.

    Which other epic items do more damage?

    Gemmed Hunter's Blade + 6 = 489-598

    T1 epic blades = 376-459

    T2 epic blades = 393-481

    CN = 402-492

    MC = 402-492 (411-503 crafted)

    VT = 406-496 (411-503 crafted)

    At last, something useful out of Professions, other than Modules related (MC, VT).

    Where are those numbers from? I've seen lvl 40 blue's with higher damage than that! Dark Forest equipment is usually 10 levels above your current character, so they almost always show high damage as well.

    And don't even get me started on the new Mulhorand weapons, as I don't want the devs to drop the big nasty "Nerf Hammer of Doom" on them ;)
    Is it finally a T5/U/T6 KDF Science Ship?

    Not too worried, since it only has damage, power, and deflection.

    If it had a set effect, then there would be a problem.

    Ctrl+J shows all the weapons, mind you those numbers are for the off hand weapons.

    You do realize that HR has a tab feature to switch to melee mode. If the damage was way less then those who went melee spec would not use that stance.

    You misunderstood.

    The blades from VT have 95 base damage less than Gemmed Hunter Blades +6.

    I wonder if this is an oversight from the dev team because that is a sizeable base damage difference...
    Threat level 60 Guardian Fighter
    Gloom level 60 Control Wizard
    Dusk level 60 Trickster Rogue
    Dawn level 60 Devoted Cleric
    Eclipse level 60 Hunter Ranger
    Wrath level 60 Great Weapon Fighter
    Jinx level 60 Scourge Warlock

    21.5% more damage on average. That is pretty significant. The equivalent of over 2400 power approximately. Probably equivalent to more than that since my calculation was a simple weapon to power ratio and didn't take into account power base damage and the fact that for most classes, the ratio of power damage transferred to a power is less than the ratio of weapon damage transferred to a power (especially on Daily powers).

    It looks like it could be an oversight, because that damage may line up with the damage from the GF weapon damage range on a crafted +6 weapon. That is about GF damage range. Did they once consider using GF weapon damage ranges instead of TR weapon damage ranges and forget to change this one?

    edit: looked it up, that is exactly the damage range for the Gemmed Guardian's Longsword
    Mindflayer - Exodus
    Daria - Dwarf Sentinel GWF (mistaken for Halfling a lot)
    Karia (aka "The Pug") - Human Combat HR
    Kayd - Human Conqueror GF - Retired
