Death Immunity

Ok I've seen 3 or 4 times recently where I kill someone (I mean killed dead/overkill) and they pop back up to life 1 second later. No angel or anything noticeable and the same char did it like 3 times in one PVP session.

Is this an ability Im not familiar with or should I be watching and reporting this?

It's the new soul forge. They changed the enchant from immunity to instant revive upon death with life. You will be seeing a lot more of it. Just save an encounter after their "dead" and unload on them again.

it's the soulforged enchantment reworked after the patch. now it bring you back to life when you die and heal a portion of your hp.
    cooldown 180seconds i think.

I find this new enchant feature much more annoying than the old one. You can have a close toe-to-toe fight, kill the other in the last second only to see him stand up again with more health than he had before and finishing you off. You can't kill someone quickly anymore (maybe you are even using range) and then move fast to another target because the target just will stand up again and all your effort on killing him was wasted if not someone else targets him again.

It is a very nice feature for PVE though, especially for healers. Saves the whole party a lot, but in PVP this is really bad implemented. There it should rather work like a self ressurection which you can click after 10 seconds have passed. Either you are ressurected by someone else or after 10 seconds you stand up yourself by clicking a button. This would allow the one that killed you to finish you normally off when he stands next to you but still would give you a chance to stand up when ppl are ignoring you.

Well I'll tell you one thing... PVP has an entirely new complexion after all this new stuff. It's going to take some time to figure out the proper build modifications. No more 1,2,3 dead with this and some of the other stuff Im seeing. I find myself doing a lot more evading and running in battles vs skilled opponents with good equipment.

Crazy snake archers who fall over dead at a single touch? I saw a GWF so pumped up on defense/deflect I think that the tactic was to just stand on (2) and no matter how much you hit him he didn't get hurt effectively camping (2)... didn't even bother to fight back or move.

Admittedly part of my problem is going away and coming back after several months many ppl get way further ahead than I am and I dont recognize all the new stuff yet.

imo right now pvp is a mess not really worth playing. And I have been a pretty staunch defender of how balanced this game is.

The new Soulforged is OP as hell, both in PvE and PvP. Even then lesser one is very worth getting. However, since they are almost free to remove from armors and cheap to get (1 coal and 4 shards), even casual players can (and should get one).

Agreed, it is op. Lesser soulforged is all you need.

The problem in my view is that regardless of class, race, playstyle, personal preference, etc., There is really no choice for armor enchant other than soulforged.

I wish the rest of the epic enchants would get this much love from the devs... or maybe they want every single player in the game to run vorpal/soulforged.

I prefer barkshield still. Soulforge, at least lesser on a gwf, doesn't give you enough hp to re-activate unstoppable again. Also, if your skills are on cooldown when you die or you are out of sprint, you cant really do much when you are revived by it. Also, the revive animation takes just as long as if someone was reviving you, so it gives people plenty of time to re-stun you or kill you while you are respawning. Plus it does have a longer cooldown. Either way tanks have become more resilient to death, which means its better to have an enchant that still serves a purpose when you aren't dying as much. Also for people who use tenes, the barkshield will keep your hp higher longer = more damage. Plus with bark shield you have the utility bonus of not getting dismounted from damage over time effects or at wills. Just my opinion. Both are good though.

I was quite worried at first about the new SF, but in the end I came to like it a lot even as a CW, so I upgraded it to greater and working towards Perfect now.

The only issue I see with it is that it synergizes perfectly with stuff such as:

    - decent regen
    - DCs...
    - GWFs...
    - TRs...
    - potions
    - Healing ARTIFACTS...

For my class, it's quite balanced I'd say, yeah you get a resurrect every 90 secs, but any decent team can burst you down again very fast before the heals/artifacts/potions can be activated. So it's decent, but not OP.
