Solo Dungeons?

Ok, so today I waited forever in que to do a dungeon (Cloak Tower)--I got tired of waiting and decided to do it solo. Probably not a good idea..lol But I figured I would give it a try. I made it to Makred the Foul after many many potions and health scrolls--I had him for a second time, down to 1/4 life and the game crashed. I was not a happy camper to say the lease.

My question is--why can't they scale the dungeons to be solo-able. Not everyone has friends or belongs to a guild--so why not? Is there any reason to not allow players to take on a Dungeon that scales to their level?

This is arguable, you're playing an MMO; if you want a solo player experience, then why not play a single player game? If you don't have friends, or if you just don't want to wait in the que, then that's your lost. MMO's are played with other people, and finding a group isn't so hard.

Don't use the queue for anything but the lowest tier dungeons. Even so, don't just wait around. Use zone chat (normal dungeons on the relevant map) or lfg to find a party. It avoids running afoul of the built in party composition that the game wants, avoids bots, ensures that everyone at least speaks some of the same language and is just faster. Normally, if you have a full party and you queue, you should get in very quickly. After the module launched, there seem to be some problems. If that happens, make sure everyone is in the same instance and go to the front door of the dungeon. I had to do that yesterday with CT. Had a full party and the queue never popped. Fortunately everyone got there before DD ended, with two minutes to spare.

I'd like to see what Rift did, and make smaller 2 man versions of the Dungeons. They wouldn't be as rewarding (maybe just granting Marks and blues), it would be nice to have an option of running a dungeon with fewer players...

Just keep in mind that in this game the Dungeons are entirely optional content. You don't really NEED to do any of them. None of the basic Story Missions or the Expansions require the kind of Gear that you can only get in a Dungeon and the two Modules give you the chance to get some of that higher level Gear through steady Solo play anyway. So if you don't have a Party to do a Dungeon? Skip it. You don't really loose anything. They are there so that folks who enjoy teaming have SOMETHING to do.

Unfortunately, most of the groups I have been with want to rush through everything and just get it over with. Which is fine if that is what they want to do, but I would rather take my time and hit everything. I am currently seeking a Guild that I can run with that actually likes to take their time and explore every inch of the dungeon--which is more my play style:).

I can relate to that. It's just human nature though. A lot of people are more goal oriented. It would help if there was better loot scattered through the dungeons, rather than the same drops you can get soloing on the maps.

I would love this option. However, it is harder to find a good team, to collaborate, and then finish a dungeon. Therefore, I do not think dungeons should simply be scaled to the same difficulty for soloing, but if they scaled it down while keeping it a little bit harder for solo, then I think this would be a great change.

You will change your mind quickly after running each dungeon 10-30 times to get T2 gear to your toons.
