Well, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this.. but I used to play PWI back around 2009, and when they started developing NeverWinter in 2010 (I think?), I was waiting with bated breath for the first playable beta version to be released. I never really was a forums person... however, I did creep around the forums once in awhile to read the news. Never got around to posting, or registering though.
Back on topic.. once the beta of NeverWinter was released in February of this year, I played it for some time, only to sadly quit playing due to system complications. However, I am back, and with a "better" computer than I had during that time. I realise that it has not really been what you could call "A long time" but to me, it has. I might not be a True Veteran, but I am a lover of PWI, and have tried to play a bit over the years. However, I am more of a RuneScape player, and tend to simply go back there after playing PWI for a few hours, due to PWI not having enough content.
This thread has an added few questions as well.. what does everyone think of NeverWinter now that it has been officially released? Do you believe that all the bugs have been quashed, and all the content is playable, and free of glitches?
Important:Do you believe that an old RuneScape player such as myself could enjoy this game, without feeling bored?
I've played RuneScape since August 2001, and I every time I try to play another game.. I just don't find it as satisfying as Runescape is, due to its lack of content, and poorly developed crafting, and skilling. Out of every game I've ever played, Runescape by far has the largest, most advanced crafting and skilling methods that I have ever seen. I mean, you can literally go smith an Axe, then chop down any tree in the gameworld.
I honestly don't care about combat. It's the non-combat content that intrigues me, because every single MMO out there always bases everything on combat.. and I totally get sick of it. I've yet to find one MMO, (other than Runescape.) that isn't entirely created around combat.
And do you guys think that I can play comfortably, with no lagg on maximum detail with my computer specifications?

If there are any Qualms about me playing NeverWinter during the closed beta.. I'm afraid I cannot give sufficient enough proof to show you that I truly did play then. Except... I was part of a gaming clan, and I found some old reply notifications in my email, from March 7th. Hopefully this will suffice:
Runescape eh? I've played it off and on since 2005. However, once I found neverwinter this past summer I haven't stopped playing it. To be honest though, I don't think you will find any game out there that has such a large "skilling" basis on the game. One of the things that really appealed to me with neverwinter though was that it had really nice end game grinding system with lots of room for progression so that I could fill that Runescape need to grind type of feeling. Especially if you decide to play neverwinter f2p, you will have plenty to do. As far as content though, like I said, I'm doubting you will find any other skilling based games. However, the skills you can train in this game can make you very wealthy if you chose to follow them. They are all time/asset based, so it is unique in that manner though. Each task has a certain time/reward allotted to it and you need to manage resources/assests in order to achieve your goals with that. Another neat feature about this game that could be related to Runescape is the market. There is lots of opportunity to manipulate the market and play with pricing of items which I always found fun in RS. However, in neverwinter items tend not to drop so frequently, and are more unique, so there is much more room to play with the market if you so desire. One cool thing I liked about neverwinter was that if you work your way up, you can actually trade in game currency into zen. You said you have been with PWI a lot though, so you may already know how this kind of stuff works. For me there is just something really cool about being able to work hard and get credit that I would normally need to pay for with real cash. It is also nice though to have a game where you can spend a little money on and get a lot out of it when you get money from holidays, ect. and neverwinter also fills that role for me as well. A cool thing you find with neverwinter that you don't really see so much in other games is that neverwinter is very team oriented in all of its activities once you reach lv 60 (max lv; which is a fast lv btw). Almost everything you do once you hit 60 is team oriented. The main activities are either 5v5 pvp, 20v20 pvp, or 5 man groups going to complete the various challenging dungeons that are offered.
Idk, for me I played Runescape for years, but once I completely dropped it for this. I have a feeling I will be sticking with this game for a long while.
(*Also, sorry if we aren't allowed to talk about other games. I know this is the case in some game's forums, but I thought it would be nice to be able to relate the games to better describe the connections and why I find Neverwinter much more enjoyable)
Hey, thanks Godly. ^_^
I think I very well might stick with Neverwinter as well. I played for about 10 minutes so far, (I created a new character.) and I'm loving it. No bugs, no lagg, and surprisingly.. the combat is actually fun. This was not something I expected. You actually have to manually attack. It requires you to put effort into it. I like that.
As far as Merching, and PvP go.. I never got into either of those. I was more of a social player, and a Skiller. I did do a bit of PvM though. And yea, I would assume that compared to RuneScape, all other MMO's have "Unique" items. But RuneScape is unique in that regard, because of the fact that all the equipment is "set in stone", you always know what is what in that game.
And I said I played PWI since 2009, but I wasn't really "Active". So no, I didn't know about that Zen thing. Heck, I didn't even know what Zen was. Haha.. Anyways, recently.. like, last month I believe.. RuneScape also lets you use ingame wealth to buy membership, and things like that. It was an update that had a lot of old players muttering about. xD
Thank you for your response. I wasn't expecting one so soon.
