I've been trying to find the answers for some questions I have but with no luck.
I've already made a small foundry and now I'm trying to improve it but there are some things that I can't figure out.
I have made an optional map (map 2), to get there I have made a drop that is required to use the door. The npc you speak with to get it isn't in the story line, but has his dialogue in the dialogue tree, but the transition doesn't work.
Also, I would like the foundry chest to be in the room that you leave from (as going to map 2 is optional)
As it is now, map transitions have to be objectives in the story line. You can decorate an area on the same map, hidden from view, and use a teleporter to travel to that area. But there's no way to travel between maps except through story objectives.
Pretty much that. All optional content has to be on the same map, and you can't go back to a map you've already left.
However, you can duplicate a map and use it twice, so don't get scarred that you have to build a map from scratch a second time.
Teleporters are a fine way to have different "maps" that you can move freely between. I use them liberally on my second quest I am working on, just pre-plan this route and use a far bigger map then you would otherwise use so you can hide the other parts.
