What is wrong with patching?

I installed the game (no comment on the whole Arc nonsense..) set it to be patching, left it 6 freaking hours and it got stuck at 56%, not to mention that every time I cancel and restart it I get completely different feedback on how much data I need, at first it was saying 0/6000MB, then 0/4800MB now it says 0/1800MB.

What the hell is this?

    It continues from where the patch last stopped; it doesn't redownload everything.

    I'm having issues similar enough to this, I've downloaded the game but the login button has no usage at all wtf?

    i'm also having issues. downloaded the game at 4:15pm, and the patching is moving really, really slow. when the on-demand patching is ticked on, the patching downloads somewhere over 3gb, and when it's not ticked on, it's 7gb. it's currently 1:01am, and i haven't been able to log on/play once.

    it takes 3 hours to get to 12%, then gets stuck and restarts.
