What have you done now, Cryptic?

The shard shuts down for maintenance to fix something caused by the last patch (what a surprise). Shard goes back up. My two main 60s, all seems as it should be but on a new character I've been levelling, ... no. The login screen says dungeon instead of dragon next to Protector's Enclave and once logged in, the AH is completely empty, there's like 10 people online (all low level I might add) and only one instance. Something's amiss and it took me a while to notice. About 6 levels worth of while to be exact (6 levels worth of while I'd prefer not have to do over tyvm).

    I can vouch for this mysterious occurrence. I made this account earlier today in conjunction to my other account out from pure boredom and curiosity. I honestly got tired of the community with all the hassle to do just DD w/o any mishaps and other whatnot. I somewhat wanted to start anew, but I never expected this!

    My new character was, so to speak, created in a new shard. I'm not sure how to xplain this. Well, first of all. There is no AH, I'm currently one of the only two sellers, there is no Zen transactions, no guilds. Everything is clean and fresh. Almost like early beta, where everyone had nothing and no one had anything. The shard is called "Dungeon", and atm, there is only about 62 players in total. I did a player search and found that almost everyone was below level 20, only about 15-ish players were above 30.

    This is all the information I could get in-game at the time of this post. If anyone with answers, please... By all means, do explain. I'm not sure if its a glitch, a bug, or simply a mistake, bcuz someone fat-fingered a key during the patch. I'm shocked really. Almost in awe. Its like NW did a rollback, but with all the xpansions and features still in-game.

    It seems to randomly select between Dragon and Dungeon on character creation.

    Thing is, the character I have this problem on was already created beforehand and everything was fine with it before this latest "fix". I was in a quest instance/dungeon when the shard came down though. Maybe that has something to do with it.

    lol, I'm intruiged. I have a few level 1 chars sitting around. I will try to level them into PE later today to see if I'm a Beta player again!

    EDIT: Anyone else notice Private Wilfred seems to get stuck on the bridge in the tutorial a lot?

    I couldn't replicate this bug, however.

    It's basically like it would be on preview - mail isn't working between this char and my others - yesterday all in my f list were just showing as in "neverwinter", instead of actual areas (this isn't the case today) - only 1 instance - empty AH. I'm just really hoping that character progression isn't the same as on preview.

    Well, this is the first time I've ever added new character slots to my account (I only use one account) - maybe that's a factor too. As I said my other chars (the 2 main slots) are fine so ... it may be difficult to replicate. There are quite a few new/low chars on this particular instance now though and the AH is filling up with low level greens etc - so I guess there are a lot of new players who are in the same position but are completely oblivious to the situation.

    edit: also, this may or may not be relevant but the summer festival event notification is still showing for this particualr char, above the new cta event notification.
    also when I click on this event it says: Summer festivals height! Jan 1, 2000, 12am - 12am .......

    Cryptic have brought the millenium bug back ..... 13 years later

    further edit: not receiving guild invites either =/

    For me the Summer Festival says, Dec. 31, 1999 4 pm to 4 pm.

    Is there any way of transferring off of 'Dungeon' into the main shard 'Dragon'? I created a new character there yesterday, got him to mid teens and then realized that I was on this dead server after looking through an empty Auction House :( WTH is going on?

    Ah, nice one, thanks. Well as long as I don't lose my progress I don't care what shard I level on tbh. Fingers crossed this "script" isn't a giant fudge up then.
