New campaign: Kobolds and Fires. Trading reviews.

edited November 2013 in Foundry Quest Database
I recently finished a couple new quests. (I actually made them in the first two or three days of open beta, but I completely redid them and turned them into one campaign.)

Quest one: The Lair of Kheneka. Short code: NW-DHN53LFZ3.
Quest two: The Revenge of Athron'zal. Short code: NW-DPEC3RHT8.

Both of these contain highly customized enemies and as close as I could get to bosses within the limits of the foundy. (Some of the bosses in the second quest actually require you to follow mechanics to survive.) The story is mainly told through boss fights and reach point objectives. (Messages from reach point objectives appear in chat is you miss them.) The Lair of Kheneka also includes an extreme challenge boss meant to challenge 2-3 players. It allows you to skip the trash between the first and second bosses.

I am happy to trade reviews and reply to any questions about the quest. (Including boss mechanics. There is one fight I do expect a lot of questions about in particular.)

Edit: The campaign is not appearing for some reason, I will try to see what is wrong with it. The quests are up though, just not the campaign connecting them.
Edit two: They both are now daily eligible! I still need reviews on them though as those plays were on the old version, the only play on the new version is mine.

I have encountered an issue with "The Revenge of Athron'zal" Causing it to transport you to the wrong place in the second map. I am going to fix this now so it should be up in a few minutes, just though I should give everyone a heads up that they might need to abandon and retake the quest if they picked it up recently, I will update this post when the fix is live.

I will also fix an issue with the kill room enemies participating in the fight with the undead Nasher Leaders during this update.

The fix for moving the spawn point is publishing, the Nasher Leader bug is a lower priority but is still being fixed now.

The Nasher Leaders bug is now ready to publish as soon as the first publish goes through. (Yes I know I am editing this post about once every thirty seconds.)

Everything is publishing, it should be ready in a couple of minutes.

Bah! Now the chest is in the wrong room so the quest is still can not be completed. Who knew moving the end fight to a different map would cause so many problems? The undead Nasher Leaders are still glitched as well but I am hoping that I just had the wrong version.

I am publishing the updated version now, this should be working finally. I will fix a few typos from the first quest and then post the version 1.1 patch notes.

    Version 1.1

The Lair of Kheneka. Fixed a few major typos.

    The Revenge of Athron'zal.

The fight with Athron'zal is now in a diffrent room than the rest of the quest. (Yes, this was the reason for the issues in the above post.
Warlord Haetharos now can spawn more trash mobs total and spawns them faster.
The undead Nasher leaders should now properly fight the player rather than walking through a wall into the "kill room".

A couple things I am unsure about and would like to see some opinions on.
I am looking at another potential increase to Warlord Haetharos's difficulty, possibly as difficulty slider option. I would, however, like to get some other opinions of him first.
I am not sure how well people will understand the mechanics for the champions of Athron'zal, does anyone thinK I should put a hint in somewhere?

More of a question about the foundry than about my quests, but how do I publish a campaign, I have done it before with some of my early quests but the one for these is still not working.

Edit: Warlord Haetharos has received an optional Hard Mode difficulty, he spawns minions much faster on hard mode.

I just did The Lair of Kheneka: NW-DHN53LFZ3

I used my wizard because it seemed a bit hard for my Cleric. Anyway I though it was pretty good. Did find one issue with a floating clicky that took me into a room full of mobs. Not sure what that was about because it wasn't part of the quest. Maybe it was the old boss room that you moved?

Please take a try at the foundries in my signature and I will look at completing the second foundry.

    Thanks

Hi, I'm just playing your quest (The Lair of Kheneka).
It is not bad for a hack&slash, but a bit monotone at some point - I belive some music could improve the experience.

What you found was the extreme challenge optional, but from the wrong side. You may have noticed the side path after getting past the first boss encounter and walking through some fire, that is the intended way to reach the extreme challenge optional. The teleporter is supposed to take you to the second boss encounter, allowing you to bypass some trash, not as much of a reward as I would like to give but it at least adds some incentive.

I will add some then, I always play foundries with sound off due to the fact that the enemies usually give very out of character lines. (I hate it when a random fighter say "For the Nashers!" when he has nothing to do with the Nashers.

I played all three of your quests, no real issues I encountered in the first two, the last one worked fine but I was a little confused at the end, I thought I was going to fight the leader and have a little more of a conclusion to the quest.

Ok I just completed the The Revenge of Athron'zal. : NW-DPEC3RHT8

Thought it had good themes and fun innovative boss rooms. Not a lot of trash killing just boss fights. I like it. I think it needed a bit more dialog as I was unclear story wise why I was going into the Former Nasher hideout. Some minor details were off in the final boss room. The loot chest was floating in mid as was the pillar in the middle of the room. Setting the Y-axis to -7 or 8 will fix that.

At the end of my 3rd foundry you can either kill him or sympathize with the undercity peasants. The foundry has two entirely different endings. I may need to reword the dialog to make the story seem more clear. There will eventually be a 4th mission that completes the whole campaign.

I tried to explain the Nasher Hideout in the Lair of Kheneka, but I should probably add the explanation to the second one as well. As for yours, I thought I took the option to sympathize with them but one told the leader I was an enemy and started trying to kill me, then I didn't have any further explanation as to what just happened.

Edit: Thanks for bumping up the duration, they are now both daily eligible.

I added a short side passege to "The Lair Of Kheneka" that leads into a short (Average duration of five minutes.) quest. (You will find the shortcode in the side passage of The Lair Of Kheneka.".)
