Dungeon priorities

Hello,

I am a relatively new 60 Wizard. I am in the process of upgrading my gear(currently 9500 GS). After reading all the guides provided, I am using the Thurmager spec. I purchased the Archmage set from the Auction house(by just low bidding AD) and have the full Fatebender set. In looking at all the Dungeons, is there a list somewhere of which ones i should be focusing on to make the most efficient use of my time. I'm an older gamer with a job and a family and don't have a ton of time to play.

I have done Clock Tower, Cragmire Cripts(sp?), Dread Vault several times during the Dungeon Delve time slots but haven't had anything seen anything useful drop.

I seem to have hit a wall as i can't seem to improve my GS enough to get into the tougher dungeons where the better gear is supposed to drop. I am doing my Sharandar dailies and progressing nicely there.

Any advice from the vets would be very helpful. Thanks, Thorizar

Grind out some rank 5 enchants and use your unicorn seals to improve your accessories or salvage for AD. Do GG when you can to get the GG T2 set.

Thanks for the reply. I know my enchants aren't great. I do have the stone and it provide good stats for the areas I am short in(crit, arm pen). Not currently in a guild, but i guess im going to have to research decent guilds so that i can run GG with regularity.

My real question is which dungeons I should be focusing on to efficiently upgrade my gear? or should i just grind AD's and just buy a High Visier set. After reading various threads, I'm starting to think that will be more realistic(playing the AH using the Gateway). I'm not seeing a real answer and I don't see myself getting invited to do MC or the other high end dungeons with my gearscores.

You should be able to get into the T2 dungeons that drop set gear(Spell, Frozen Heart, Spider and Karrundax) with your current setup.
I'd be tempted to buy the Karrundax drop though(gloves). It's excessively hard for anything short of very high DPS and very organised groups.

Alternatively you can grind the T1 dungeon for gear to sell. Mad Dragon, Idris, you should really run those at least once.

    Good advice there ^
I can only add that Pirate King is very easy, it is easier than Mad Dragon. So grind drake seals there and buy items for drake seals. These items will serve you till the end)
I would not recommend buying gear on AH - it is way too overpriced. The only thing that maybe worth buying for ad is Ancient set (Ancient Court Magister Orb and Talisman). They drop in Castle Never and that is a hell of a place.

    Frozen Heart - get boots.
    Karrundax - get gloves.
Temple of Spider - get chest.
    Spellplague - get cap.
First focus on High Vizier set, it is better for Thaum spec. You can grind for Shadow Weaver afterwards, it will be easy with HV.

For grinding ad the best place is Spellplague (helms) and Malabog (fragments). But honestly fragments drop not that often, and Spell is long. So maybe better do fast Karru or FH.

karrundax hard ? are u ffn kidding me, last boss can be done with only 2 decent cw, the rest of the bosses arent too hard. unless u are mentally challenged, then u do like most players(n 0 0 b s) and bug it. only part that is hard to get is the one from spider

and dont waste seals on that trash from drake vendor, only buy rings and salvage, its t1 like trash without any set bonuses

safest set to go for is GG set since u dont need to have a decent party, u could also wait for new expansion and farm seals for that set

for AD just farm PK, its its so easy that it probably could be cleared solo and u can run quite a few of them during DD

Yes, Karrundax is hard if you're trying to do it legit. The first boss in particular is probably the hardest of the three. (Yes the last boss is surprisingly easy for a T2 dungeon.) Of course any dungeon is "easy" if you exploit it.

Drake seal jewelry is only 2 notches down from Ancient set jewelry. It is by no means "trash". (Now Unicorn seal jewelry - that is not so good. Barely T1 quality.) It is quite good considering how easy (relatively speaking) it is to get, just via seals from any T2 dungeon, even PK or FH.

get ancient necromancer, its below 20k a piece, best stats for cw imho + def slot for life steal. and yes ive done karr legit, and with weird party setups and still i think pirate is harder + if its a pug theres a 95% chance that ppl will bug 1st 2 bosses in karr, there are even noobs who want to bug last boss

Grind out a set of GG gear, it has the second best set bonus for CW next to HV, is incredibly easy to get, and the best part is that it is the only t2 CW set with ArP on it. It's best to eventually get a High Vizier, Shadow Weaver, and GG set but GG is the easiest to start with.

I agree GG set is very good starting set for any CW, it's quite easy to get, just have to find a party to do GG whenever it's on, win or lose you can still run T1 for coins.

Grand rings/neck/belts are also quite cheap and affordable. The stats that you're after are Power/Crit/Recovery/ArmPen. Defense is also good for newer players, esp without HV set.

Since you have a job and family, buying the gears from AH may be better option than grinding for them. I'm very sure you make a whole lot more AD in your job than any grinders in this game for AD/gear on the hourly rate. If you think you'll be more comfortable with a HV set and it's going to make your playtime more enjoyable, then why not?

Before you buy the whole set, you can perhaps try and do some T2 dungeons to get some pieces, but I have to tell you, without a guild you may struggle to find a very good party to finish that T2 dungeon that you want, so most Dungeon Delves time, you maybe looking at completing 1 or 2 dungeons even if you preclear. Then comes your chance at getting what you want from the chest. From what I've read on wiki, it's a 10% chance to be able to choose your T2 items. (Yes you're gonna have ppl telling you they got it their first time and it's easy, but you'll also find ppl with very bad luck and not get it after doing 20 runs)
