I apologize if this may have been discussed in other topics, but using the Search option I couldn't find anything else than bugs regarding the boons or incomplete informations, so I need some more feedback from fellow GWFs.
Currently, I'm running a GWF Destroyer spec'd and some days ago I finished gathering the materials to unlock the last boon and I still haven't decided what to get.
Elven Resolve: Your Stamina or Guard Meter regenerate 10% faster in Combat. Fey Thistle: When you Deflect an attack you deal 400 damage to your attacker. Elvish Fury: When you kill a foe you gain 20 Power for 45 seconds. This buff stacks up to 30 times. Redcap Brew: Potions now heal you for 10% more.
At first, I'd have picked Elvish Fury, but I've been reading on the forums that you need to deal the last hit on your target for the buff to occur (and stack further), so in a PvE scenario, when you're not always able to do so, I don't know if I'll be able to have the stack up for a good amount of time or a good number of stacks at all.
My second choice was Elven Resolve, with the amount of running left and right required in the epic dungeons, having some extra stamina regeneration wouldn't hurt for sure, but I have no idea if that 10% regeneration more (in combat) is able to make a different and/or if you're able to feel the difference at all.
Fey Thistle instead, looks great for Sentinel spec'd GWFs or if you're often in a maintank/off tank role, of course depending on your deflect chance, but I've been reading that there's an internal cooldown (like other enchantments) and the boon itself is currently glitched, proccing on thin air even if you're idle in Protecto's Enclave doing nothing, making your character going in combat.
Redcap Brew was surely my last choice, 10% more health from potions isn't really that much (850 more HP from level 60 health potions) and in PvP you can't use them as much you can in PvE (and the PvP potions heal for way less too)
Any suggestions? Is there something I don't know/I don't get about the boons? What did you picked?
If you down a lot of potions, Redcap Brew seems the way to go since every bit helps.
That being said, it's still not the most overwhelming benefit. Thistle and Resolve are going to be more bang for your buck depending on how actively you use your shift skill vs. facetanking. Given how most GWF's seem to forget that they have a shift key to avoid red circles, most will choose thistle. It's not a great boon given the apparently long internal cooldown, but if you're not going to dodge you may as well take the minor boost.
Personally, I chose Resolve but I also favor a more mobile playstyle that involves using the shift key to both avoid and choose a better position in combat.
The right to command is earned through duty, the privilege of rank is service.
Fey Thistle: When you Deflect an attack you deal 400 damage to your attacker. ==> if you have even decent % in deflect, this is going to be your best pick. I have 34% deflect+10% from weapon mastery stacks, and I parsed a evenly matched pug pvp game, this single boon have done almost 30% of my total dps in the entire match! To be honest, I will be superbly happy even if this number is at 15% (from a single boon!). So unless you are instigator and play squishy, otherwise getting hit and gain dps is almost as good as building up determination!
btw, there is no coold down for this boon, it procs 100% of the time when you deflect a hit!
Diminishing return with each boon. Fortunately there is no 6th one, it would lower your stats. I picked Elven Resolve, can't really see the improvement, still OS-ed by the fourth red circle after evading three and being out of stamina.
Thistle is certainly great... for a TR. Unsurprisingly.

Your choice for your playstyle, and feel free to test in on the Test Shard. You can respec as often as you want and choose a new boon each time!
