Is the Protector GF path a dead end?

When I first started my GF, I envisioned a paladin-esque style protector of the downtrodden. So, I went down the Protector path. However, as time has gone on I've become more focused on PvP, almost to the exclusion of PvE and I'm wondering if I've handicapped myself in such a way that will warrant a respec.

So, I suppose the better way to ask the question is: Can Protector GFs be viable in Lvl 60 PvP?
